Seeing a lot of chatter about how its too late to mail your ballot back now and how you need to drop it off instead. Which I feel like uncovers another layer with the fucked-up-ness of the situation.

Because there are states where yeah, mailing in your ballot in at this point is risky. And you should go to a ballot drop off site instead.

But there are other states where mailing in your ballot is still okay because it just needs to be post-marked on time. And I worry warning people that it might be too late to mail their ballots in, which while a good warning that will hopefully get some people to drop their ballot off in states like WI and PA, will also get people who could mail their ballot in and don't have time to go to a drop off site to just not mail it at all.

 

I seem to have caught a cold. I guess being in the state of the country we are in now never know though. But I don’t have any of the common covid symptoms (fever, loss of smell, cough) and have all the usual things I feel when I get a cold (sore throat, runny nose, congestion). And it is cold and flu season after all, so all signs point to it just being a cold. But if you were me, would you go get tested anyway? I’m suppose to work tomorrow night but idk, feels like at this point in time any illness should be taken like it’s covid.

Yes, I would absolutely get tested

when I was sick in April I didn't have most of the usual symptoms and I was also dealing with spring allergies so it looked more like really bad chest cold, you just never know

 

I had the exact same thing happen last week. I did not choose to get tested, though I work from home so that might be a bit different than your situation. Cold went away after three days and I did not come into contact with anybody.
