I agree. I don't think that specific tool was ever shown/mentioned until the end. I guess we're supposed to assume that when Riki finds out that it wasn't Tatro's "tool" it suddenly clicks to her that it was actually the taxidermist's who ran the cabin where the first murder happened?!

  2. The Funhouse Massacre was good! Takes a very simple premise (the haunted house is real!) and executes it better than most. I had to rent it on YouTube, but I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a solid horror-comedy. Big, dumb fun.

Figured I'd start tonight out with Demons 2 since I watched the first last night. Definitely enjoyed the first more because I feel like the movie theater setting was more fun, but still decent either way.

Yeah, I just find the plot to be more layered and Kinderman is not just given more to do but is also a more interesting character plus I find it way scarier because for the majority of its running time the violence is subtle but realistic.

Thought the Mortuary Collection was great. Thought the wraparound story was cool, Clancy Brown kills it, and aside from the first segment being a bit weak I thought everything else was really well done.

Are the Exorcist films connected or just self contained stories? I feel like I hear a lot of good things about 3, but I've only seen the original so I don't wanna jump into the 3rd and be lost.

The first and second one are connected but the third one ignores the second completely and is just connected to the first.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

do not ever watch the second one lol. life's too short

Exorcist III is great but I'm still praying we get a true director's cut of it one day

  11. Yeah, I haven't seen the second and it didn't affect my viewing of the third whatsoever

Not exactly horror, but I'm thinking Escape From New York and The Terminator today

As for me (and yes, another triple post lol), I’m currently watching the full length documentary on Vamp on the film’s Arrow Blu-ray and then tonight I’m getting back to Universal Horror with the OG Mummy followed by Phantasm

inviting a few friends over tonight for a "drive in" in our back yard. we're doing a double feature of Sleepaway Camp and tourist trap.

  20. Great double feature [x2]

Sleepaway Camp is a staple, but watching Tourist Trap for the first time this year (Last Drive In) truly surprised me as well, absolutely loved it

  21. Sorry for the triple-post, but I forgot to mention Night of the Creeps was almost perfect. An 80s homage to 50s b-movies with zombies, aliens, and a slasher? Just totally charming and fun to watch. Had to rent that one on YouTube as well but I couldn't recommend it enough

I have the Legion cut, which I have yet to see but despite the ending being one of studio interference I think it still works.

Fade to Black was great. This may sound odd, but I'd love to see it get the remake treatment. As long as it's in good hands lol

Been a really fun day for horror films since I revisited Creepshow for the first time in years which made for a great time and then Homicidal from director William Castle, who I find to be rather underrated, was enthralling while having a twist ending to rival the likes of Psycho.
