I mean...maybe? For all we know it could have.

 

Not sure if there are any fans of The-Dream on here, but I thought the Sam Cooke covers album he released last year was surprisingly solid...

 

Listening to (what is, I think) his complete recordings with the Soul Stirrers. I don't know much about gospel, but it's pretty excellent. Especially at the beginning, the songs have minimal, if any, instrumentation and it's primal and exciting as fuck and a perfect setting to see just how incredible his instrument was.
