episode 3 was the best yet

Yeah my favorite episode so far, for sure

 

Damn things are heating up. Loved Olyphant talking to the Fadda’s. Eating his carrots lol.

 

what the actual fuck did Ethelrida see at the start? is this season literally bringing in the devil?

 

Also the bathtub scene...I wasn't sure if it was a ghost or what

 

yeah this show usually plays pretty coy with this kind of stuff but I don't see how to interpret that bathtub scene other than explicitly supernatural

 

I thought maybe it was death approaching swanee? But she pulled through so idk!

Also is she played by the girl who plays carry in legion? I can't tell and the wikipedia lists two different actors on two different pages

 

I thought the apparition was an amazing addition. Can't wait to see where that goes. Seems like it could potentially be Death itself watching over them considering Ethelrida would go on to do something that day that puts her life in some pretty serious danger and Swanee is in pretty bad shape after ingesting all that Ipecac.

 

I interpreted it as death as well. Especially when it disappeared as she woke up to puke.

 

Pretty cool that the series has a pattern of going from one season taking place in present day-ish, then having the next season in the past, and so on.

 

I too, assumed the figure was death approaching, but what was interesting is, didn't Ethelrida actually see it and react to it? Whereas it seemed Zelmare did not hear or see the figure, even though the dripping out of the bathtub was quite loud. So I feel like the figure was noticeable to one character, but not the other. Unless I misread the opening scene.

 

Finally through with my series rewatch — took way longer than I expected. My gf and I have extremely different binging staminas lol. Excited to finally catch up with y’all this week. Hope season 4 has been great so far!

 

I really want to enjoy this season, but it's been more miss than hit so far. Italian nacho libre is especially putting me off

 

I thought the fourth episode was the best so far, but agree. It doesn't really feel like Fargo to me. They need to start witling this cast down, all the characters just feel so thin because they get so few scenes to shine.

I don't know, but between the last season of Legion and this...Hawley might be losing it a bit. Maybe doing 7 seasons of two different shows and a feature film within 6 years burnt him out.

 

Yeah this is nowhere near the quality of season 2

 

The term hokey comes to my mind too often while I'm watching S4 to really get into it. Its mostly the italian fam stuff though. The rest is good.

 

It’s frustrating because Rock is charming as fuck in this. His money speech with the homeless guy and his scene at the end of episode 4 is great. But he’s mostly sidelined so far

 

Just finished episode 1. I assume the Milligan talk has been done to death so I’ll just go ahead and point out that I laughed out loud at Schwartzman’s “aces” sitting in the hospital with Buckley

Also v intrigued at whoever was the shadowy figure in the street at the end. Hoping it was Olyphant

First time a police presence hasn’t been introduced in the first episode too, thought that was interesting

Wife is immensely bored with this season so far, but at least is sitting it through with me. I mean, honestly feels like the least likable season so far. 2/1/3/4 at this point.

I still have hope this can turn into something great. I don't find it that slow, I just get annoyed with trying to focus on too many characters through such a short amount of time. It's clearly (as of now) my least favorite season of Fargo, but I mean, the first three seasons are all-timers.

Also, felt like last night had a ton of commercials, more than usual. And did anyone else have weird audio? Every 30-45 seconds it sounded like waves (or a big gust of wind) were in the background all of a sudden. Maybe it was just my TV?
