Damn Freddy's Dead is so bad. I don't understand how these last two got made. Stories make no sense, characters are annoying and forgettable. That video game / Looney Toons bit went on forever. At least Yaphet Kotto is cool and there are some surprising cameos.

Freddys Dead and Jason Goes to Hell came out around the same time and both have a stylish change that moved away from their winning formulas

I'm in the minority, but I actually like it with Jason Goes to Hell. There's nothing interesting about NOES 5 and 6.

    Feeling spoilers, not plot:

I was unfortunately underwhelmed, as a big fan of Thunder Road. I wish he’d focused the story on something other than the police again, it just made me keep comparing it to the highs of TR. Cummings doesn’t hit the emotional or comical highs on this, and it isn’t really horror enough to be super different. The actress who plays his daughter is great and I did have some laughs, but the ending feels pretty rushed and the resolution is not really great
    plot spoiler:

Was I not paying attention or was the killer never in the movie before the ending scene. The needle reveal didn’t hit at all because. As far as I remember, there was no foreshadowing earlier in the story.

Will do. I probably won't get to it for a few days, maybe even next weekend. I just bought the 10 ticket pass for Nightstream, so I've gotta cram in 10 movies there before Thursday.

edit: just Finnished Bloody Hell (2020) - IMDb - LOVED IT!

I loved it. It was so silly and the perfect light hearted movie to take your mind off of things. The cats face during that one scene had me dying

Alien tonight. Still looks so good. Especially on BR.

  15. Finally watched Drag Me To Hell tonight. I remember seeing trailers back in the day and thinking it didn’t look great, but that was followed by a good solid decade of hearing people talk about how great it was so I figured it was time. And... I just don’t get it. If that was trying to be campy or self aware, that missed me. Just kinda felt like a movie that was trying super hard and failing.

Enjoying Bly Manor a lot so far. 5 episodes in. it’s a departure from Hill House, reminds me a bit of Crimson Peak which I had fun watching too.

Watched The House of the Devil last night and loved it. The tension throughout was awesome. The aesthetic was incredible too.

Figured out what was going on fairly early but still had a good time with Dead End. Definitely has some cheese and early 2000s problematic jokes, and not entirely sold on the ending, but I like what they were going for.
