As much as I enjoy EOE, it has been dawning on me that Bones is significantly more enjoyable and replayable for me. The songs are just more dynamic and hit harder.

Diiiiiiiiiiiisagree. Everything about Every Open Eye is a quantum leap forward

Yep, I agree with this completely. I actually don't think I've even listened to Bones since this album came out.

Did you guys explore their Virtual Studio Tour? It's pretty amazing and very cool of them to share.

Every Open Eye is pretty much superior in every way. I will say that nothing on that album can touch Tether for me, and also I have a pretty big emotional attachment to Bones.

I was initially disappointed with Every Open Eye on it's release but I gradually warmed up to it over the past year. I still prefer Bones because I enjoy the songs a bit more and also because of an emotional attachment to it.

Neither albums are entirely consistent and there's at least two songs on both albums that don't do much for me. But their best songs I could play endlessly on repeat.

I think Every Open Eye is probably the technically superior album, but I just think Bones is more adventurous? I don't know. There's something about the first album that feels very unique to me, and while Every Open Eye is an album I've definitely come to love over the past year, it still feels much safer and sanitized to me.

This thread just reminded how terrible the last purity ring album was lmao, does anyone ever check for that band anymore

Another Eternity was one of the best albums of last year and lightyears ahead of the lifeless boring-ass debut album. Purity Ring have turned into a band worth checking out now.

I like both Purity Ring albums, but they've never been in Chvrches class

I agree, but they definitely got closer on the last album. Their live show also got exponentially better from the first album to second album tour cycle. They had a really packed Coachella this year for a midnight show as well, they definitely have more eyes on them now than before. They're the kind of band that definitely get to CHVRCHES level depending how the next album turns out

Me, all the time. I stayed in Poland an extra 3 days so I could see them and also Jamie xx two nights before. I love that album.

people fucking love another eternity but it was pretty bad compared to shrines. the fact they cut out all the hip hop and witch house influence was the most interesting thing about them in the first place

Shrines is still obviously better. But Another Eternity points to some pretty interesting directions. Push Pull overwhelms me. One of the best of the decade.

    The rivalry is back on

"Obedear" is the only thing on Shrines worth coming back to. Every song on another eternity is a jam.
