The Blue Nile (Official Thread) Band

This band should have an official thread, if only so that whenever it's bumped a few folks remember to listen to them.

Hats turns 30 this year and it's one of the greatest night albums ever. Read about it here and listen to it below.

 

Great idea. This album is so gorgeous.

Hats is one of my favorite records but the only one I’ve heard, gotta check out the rest

first heard Let’s Go Out Tonight in the film Laurence Anyways and it’s been one of my favorite songs ever since

So I snagged Hats when it got the reissue treatment but missed A Walk Across the Rooftops. Should probably grab High.

I’ve never listened to Peace at Last

 

peace at last is a little awkward and wildly different from any other blue nile record but it's still good. "family life" will kill you

 

It’s crazy how in line High is with Hats and Rooftop...20 years later.

 

yeah high is very much a return to that sound, though anytime you hear an acoustic guitar... that's peace at last peeking through

 

Hats is probably a top 10 record for me now

 

Hats grows on me more and more with each listen.

have never heard of this band so much in one time period than seeing them pop up on several of the top 50 lists. what's their vibe
