I swear I learned this from reading How Soccer Explains the World: An Unlikely Theory of Globalization.

 

They actually mentioned it last night, so I just looked it up to see if it was a capital, and Steaua Bucharest is number 6.

 

I looked up the sixth one and knowing it makes a lot of sense in the context of the soccer week.

 

And @RobbieBerns's post just seconds before mine explains why.

 

Never would have gotten Belgrade

 

What's throwing me off is that I knew Belgrade was in Yugoslavia, but I had no idea what country it ended up in when that country dissolved. With how much time I've wasted on Sporcle Geography quizzes, not sure how I didn't know it was in Serbia.

The Brazilian fans were booing both our teams constantly during the tournament because of the 7-1. Would be so great to win the final if only to silence these idiots.

 

I saw that Nerve film, it was pretty good, much better than I was expecting anyways.

 

The Brazilian fan culture has really hurt quite a few of their teams in other sports this Olympics, but I can't say I don't understand why they're doing it to German teams more than most. That's the most embarrassing thing that's ever happened to their country in sports.

 

Talk about having a bad game, Duffy only went and got a red card at the end of the game after those 2 own goals.

Wanted to see that, but the two trailers I saw made it look like two completely different movies

 

Arda finally looks like he's settled in.

 

I didn't see the trailer before going I. To this, I had just read the description on IMDb after mates takes about going. I was kind of expecting a horror film but it was more a kind of thriller. Still I enjoyed it which is the important thing.

 

My life is basically refreshing /r/soccer, Guardian Football & BBC Sport every hour in vague hope we've done something, anything.

 

Looks like Andre Ayew is out 4 months. That was a short lived debut.
