people here including myself like the Dead Meat YouTube channel but he has his own separate podcast that he also posts video episodes on YouTube but I never listened to an episode but James the host comes off as super knowledgeable about horror

If this is the only thing wanting to make you upgrade, just get JustWatch. It’s a free app that does the same thing

Those are my 3 go-to horror pods. I can’t stand The Horror Virgin because the host Todd annoys me to no end. I used to listen to The Horror Show but it just became two guys giggling at each other for the majority of the show so I tuned out. Dead Meat has a good podcast, I just wish it was more consistent with having content every week, lately it’s been a coin flip because the hosts are moving (it was announced this morning that they won’t have any new podcasts through the month of October). But when they deliver they really deliver, I feel.

Does that let you search your watchlist and filter by service or what’s streaming on it in general?

I don’t know about filtering by service, but it does have a watchlist feature built in to it and you can just click on the title you want and it’ll take you directly to it on whatever streaming service it’s currently available on.

Is that worth watching? Been on my watchlist for a while now and the mixed reception puts me off.

It’s a solid melodramatic horror movie plus Robert De Niro is the monster.

grey hairs, get out of me zoots! Prestigious

just spent 2 days at a vintage drive in that has the original set up from the 50s and they restore a bunch of old horror movie reels and play them, it was all italian movies and it was sick. They played Deep Red, The Psychic, Torso, House At The Edge Of The Park, New York Ripper, and Beyond The Darkness. Great way to start out the spooky season!

Not sure which one I liked more, Deep Red probably because the soundtrack is insane and I love what Argento does with the camera. House At The Edge Of The Park had way too many scenes of assault for me to want to watch it again but the closed situation of it really worked for me (kind of like funny games or green room) and the ending had me dying. I need to rewatch Torso because a huge cloud of fog covered the valley we were in and I couldn't even see the screen, just the light shooting through the fog, it looked crazy.

also if anyone wants to follow me on letterboxd neach’s profile

Suspiria just edges it out a tiny bit, I just love the color palette/score so much. a lot of Deep Red I was mildly confused which was distracting lol. If you have any other recs let me know! I'm building up a watchlist now

I need to watch more Giallo that isn’t Argento.

I was confused as hell the first time I watched it and then the second time I was like “who gives a shit” and it just POPPED for me.

Bava! Even his pre-giallo stuff. Some is seriously fucked up for the late 50s/early 60s.
