I agree with this. It’s really jarring how B-rate it feels despite appearances from Anthony Anderson, Eva Mendes, and the best part of the movie, Loretta Divine.

I wish because it’s time. Isn’t there issues with rights to the franchise?

The With Gourley & Rust podcast is absolutely hysterical and I can't wait for them to cover the Nightmare series next. I'm listening to the Freddy Vs Jason episode and I am consistently cracking up. "This movie is brought to you by Big Murder. Folks, get out and vote!"

As it should have! It’s not good, and that it’s celebrated as such baffles me greatly. Sorry everyone =(

Anyway, I came in here to reiterate that Dead by Daylight is too much fun and I had my first successful match as a killer last night and I now have an insatiable thirst for blood...so watch out

Local independent theater released its annual "Halloween Classics" schedule for the end of Sept thru all of October and I've got Hocus Pocus, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Coco, Ghostbusters, The Lost Boys, Coraline, The Conjuring, Annabelle, Saw, The Addams Family, Scream, and IT. Probably will go once a week tbh.

Swap coralline with Paranoman, and Annabelle with Annabelle: Creation, then you would have a perfect list

My obsessive need to do things chronologically has me actually a little excited to finally watch the first Annabelle believe it or not. If not for anything else, to be able to finally watch the sequels. I've never actually seen Coraline or Paranorman! Or Monster House! That whole genre has eluded me.

Watched Spiral on Shudder this weekend. I enjoyed it. 3.5/5 for me.

TECHNICALLY Annabelle: Creation is a prequel so ya know... story chronology would let you watch it and never have to see the original

Ah this is true! Is the first one really so bad? Haha

It’s not bad... but it’s also not good. It just kinda exists

Lmao that’s the best way to describe the first. Some good set pieces though and actually significantly better than “comes home”

    "I'll chew on a dog!"

Only older horror films I've seen in theaters are TCM and The Shining. The former was a midnight showing and I was feeling very tired so the dinner scene REALLY got to me in a visceral way that I think others that are non-as-equipped for horror as I am feel when they watch it.

I’d love to see BOTH of those in a theater. I really want to get to drive in soon...have never been.
