On doit jouer à domicile comme à la maison.

Astronautalis. Alterative Hip Hop artist from Jacksonville. And what a damn fine. Man can tell a story and does so over some nice beats.
Also highly recommended to see live. Usually not that big a rap fan, but I saw him on Tuesday and he just took Whelan's appart all by himself.

Seconded. The best band to come out of the PNW in a while, and they're playing the Portland date of Warped. Everyone listen to this EP.

I need new music. Preferably guitar driven. Effects, pedals, all that fun stuff. Any genres.

Have you ever listened to Cymbals Eat Guitars? LOSE is a masterpiece, imo. I can't say I'm crazy about all of their earlier albums, but its all still pretty good.

Please be kind. Like actually kind though.

Any recs for music that drones on and is repetitive without being uninteresting? Maybe something somewhat similar to Postcatd by Balance and Composure.

Recently discovered JVST, who I am 99.9% positive is a side-project of Joey Vannucchi's (From Indian Lakes). I'm really loving this type of music, which unfortunately I'm not too familiar with. Any recs similar to this?

RIYL: From Indian Lakes, ambient/atmospheric/bedroom pop?

glad you like it just recently discovered them. I like both the album and EP, each have some great songs and some filler. Mom Jeans has been stuck in my head for a week or so now.

First time I've ever heard this guy. Digging it. His new album is on NPR's First Listen today, but for whatever their site is broken and it won't let me post the link.

This is my favorite songwriter in the known universe. So much great music, each album pretty distinct stylistically, all among the best lyrics I've heard. He also writes a lot under Cincinnati Time Store, I think there's a soundcloud page.

Barcelona could be what your looking for. The trilogy of ep's that they released in 2014 is worth a shot.
