I think it's important to point out that that could just mean an upgrade like the Xbox One S (not One X) was an upgrade to the base model, meaning it's technically an upgrade in as a so far in that the machine now in some way supports 4K, but you won't really notice it. I doubt they'll put out a Switch model (as in not the next actual Nintendo console/handheld) that puts out proper 4K graphics.

 

I am almost at a point where I am not sure I believe that a Switch model which sole purpose is to have better Image Quality is something beneficial to Nintendo. Like who cares what resolution Super Mario is at?
I mean I do, but I doubt people at large care.

 

With the new joy con patents that don’t have them attaching to anything, I’m assuming the upgraded switch will be a home console version. I don’t see a hybrid running games in 4K.

 

Running BOTW level graphics at 4K in 2021 doesn’t require much by the way of hardware. Especially seeing how Nvidia is the partner here for graphics and DLSS could easily be the technology that solves this particular puzzle.

 

I will say as probably the most casual player to read this thread that I could not give less of a shit about getting 4k, the current switch serves me perfectly.

 

I just hope this leads to more sports games on Switch.

Madden and NHL for me. Basketball is already there, and we’re supposedly getting MLB The Show next year.

 

Damn, 4K would be sweet in a Zelda game

yeah it was a DS game and then on vita. i think this is the first time it’s getting released on a Nintendo console again I think.

this and Spelunky were my gateway to roguelikes
