They are going to make a Harley film. Jim Lee has already declared her the fourth pillar of DC. That scares the shit out of me.

Dini is a producer on these films, so I'm really hoping he has some say.

Dini's producer credit is almost assuredly because he co-created Harley and is in some capacity involved in DC films, likely minimal. George Miller's producer credit on Justice League is (most likely) just because of his abandoned Justice League film, producer credits can mean a million things, and the actual creative input is almost always close to zero.

im in utter shock at how completely god awful this was. even with the low reviews and freakishly low expectations i was still floored at how much i hated this. This was terrible.

I wouldn't really like a Harley film tbh. Then again I'm not a big fan of the character. I mean she's never really had anything actually interesting going for her, well bar Harley x Poison Ivy. But she still boils down to being written as a bad psychologist when the Joker abuses into a "relationship".

I mean a solo Harley film would almost certainly have a redemption arc, but what is the redemption? We've already seen what she desires, the dream sequence, for some bizarre reason, flying in the face of everything else they set up for the character. Where does Harley go that's not just what we saw for longer?

I don't know I just don't think she's interesting at all and having her as a pillar for DC comics is terrifying enough, having her as a pillar for the DCEU is worrying.

If they go with the more "grounded" approach that the comics have had in recent years, it could work. Having her just play a normal person with wacky antics seems to be the easiest route. She is a character that doesn't really need to be doing anything crazy to attract fans. I think if they go with Paul Feig as a director and just let him do his thing (with a R rating) this thing could be pure money.

Just please please please no sex scenes.

Jared Leto joker sexface would make for good laughs though

Even with the drop, it still came in as #1 even though Pete's Dragon and Sausage Party came out. Dunno how to explain that, slow week at the movies overall?

I do hope for a follow up though, I like the characters enough and with how this one ended it'd be nice to have the SS go after the Joker and Harley, giving Joker much more to do and the internal conflict of Harley having to choose either the Joker or her friends.

That's kind of how they did it in the comic run. Harley runs away to find the Joker. He turns out to be a real piece of shit and tortures her again. She realizes its a bad situation and makes off with his face. She starts to fall for Deadshot and this happens.

ohhhhh. I never read SS but did read Batman and Detective, so I knew he took his face and then a year later The Death of the Family, ect. I didn't know she took his face lol.

They sort of touched on her struggling with being loyal to the team and how messed up her and Joker's relationship is in the movie, so I think it'd be natural for it go to that direction.

Was kinda disappointed with this film. It really felt like such much was cut out. I feel like they just jumped so much in the beginning it was like watching 3 movies at once.
Also, I am not a fan of Leto's Joker at all.

I enjoyed the film for what it was, but like everyone else is saying, it could have been so much better. It was still a fun movie though.

Movie Theater down the street from work is $5 on Tuesdays. My night just opened up so I may go see this- just feel creepy going solo.

  17. Seeing movies with friends is fun, but going solo is liberating in its own right. I had to go see Swiss Army Man and Neon Demon solo, but I enjoyed both experiences.

For films like that, they are better alone. You can completely let your guard down.

If this gets Jared Leto blackballed like they have done to other actors, it was all worth it.
