I don't think Even If She Falls belongs in either category tbh. It just sounds like an AVA song

 

So according to Mark “The Adventure” was one of the early demos blink was working on in 2004 before the break up. Wonder how different it would have been with Mark, Travis and Jerry Finn’s input.

 

Man I can't picture that as a blink song lol

 

I have to imagine that went through some serious changes, which isn’t unheard of for them.

I’d love to hear what the blink demo was coming along to be, though.

 

It was probably just the guitar/bass riffs. I don’t think Tom was in full Bono mode with lyrics at that point yet.

 

Even If She Falls isn't my fav Neighborhoods song but imo that riff sounds like it could have came straight off Untitled/TOYPAJ and i remember loving it for that on my first listen through of Neighborhoods after a mostly confused and mixed reaction hearing the rest of the album before it

 

Interesting, but I love BOTH Enema and Untitled styles. If I could, I'd have those two tied for first on my faves list. They're too different to rank, really! I mean, I guess I just have a slightly more varied interest.

Edit: I'm actually gonna have to go back to this when I get more familiar with these newer songs. I'm remembering only a few from each of Neighborhoods, California, and Nine. Lol

For argument's sake, and because today was the first time I'd heard them, actually, I have to give a big thumbs up for both Fighting the Gravity and Even If She Falls though...ok, well, more for the former, but both I solid. I do actually like AVA, so yeah. And speaking of...

Apparently, that song was based off of or has a similar riff to an AVA song that came out sooner. Im forgetting if i was told the song though. Hmmm....

Oh yeah! And has anyone ever watched the show Still Standing? Well, they go to a Blink concert in this episode. The show is near the end, and Blink is not actually in it, but they play "First Date". Pretty exciting!
