WYWTB is their best and I will die on that hill.

Its actually tough for me. I feel like some of their best work is on Louder Now, but WYWTB was my first and has my some of my favorites...and then there's Tell All Your Friends. Don't care if you disagree, that has some killer awesome songs on there. Cute without the E but also Bike Scene...:D

The drums on louder now and self titled sound like they were made on a computer and not actually played. always thought it was so odd that people lauded valentine's drum sounds.

also yes, WYWTB is, by a long shot, their best album.

I've never even listened to S/T, but as far as Louder Now is concerned...yes, the drums are so ridiculously fat sounding. Very ugly.

Happiness Is takes the top for me but WYWTB is right behind it. no. 3-5 jockey back and forth depending on my mood between LN, NA, and TW.

Happiness Is was somewhat of a return to form for them, imo. Really a fan of that album, but Tidal Wave? Ugh, what a stinker.

TW has grown more on me, and i think it’s the direction they’ll probably continue in, but its not a favorite of mine. Happiness Is is easily the best of the reunion albums but thats not really saying a whole lot.

I love Happiness Is, definitely a solid album. Million times better than S/T. I think Flicker Fade is the only one I'm not into, weirdly enough.

Yea, I’m not a huge flicker fade fan, but the bridge is amazing.

I'll definitely give you that. I agree that's the best part of the song

Idk if I'm crazy but the production on that one sounds a little different from the other songs? Less pollished? I could be insane

“Sink Into Me” was a bad single choice, and that was basically enough for most mainstream fans to not care anymore.

  12. imo sink into me rocks, it bops, it slaps, one of those songs that's always on the tip of my tongue

Sink Into Me is a fun song but agreed a bad single choice. The song has literally (pun intended) nothing to sink your teeth into. It’s just like a fun fast call and response great to play live song which they ironically never play live.

  14. I am of the opinion that literally no single from that album would have gone over well. it was clearly not the album people wanted and not much would have changed that

    it's still pretty good though

Sink Into Me, especially how it's sung, is one of the more grating choruses I've ever heard. Don't like the melody, don't like anything about it lol

Lonely Lonely, Swing, and Summer Man all would have been better single choices.

Any fan of Louder Now should love Swing, so that does seem like a weird fumble to not have as a single.

Carpathia and Where My Mouth Is are amazing singles though

Only song I don’t love on Happiness Is is Like You Do. It’s uninteresting and is sandwiched between 3-4 top tier songs and just falls totally flat.

Bw LN, NA, and TW I think TW is the least consistent but has several all-time great moments and I think it’s the most mature and the one that’ll age the best.

I didn’t care for Sink when I first heard it but now i adore it. Such a fun listen. I do think Swing would’ve been the best single choice.

  19. I think people would have hated "Swing" plenty if it came out first

More than the others? Out of any song on NA, I think it would fit on LN the most, and that was their big commercial success.

I mean, LN isn't my favorite, but from a profitability standpoint...

Swing is still one of their best songs. Where My Mouth Is is, with the exception of Fazzi’s “why’d you do it, why oh why’d you do it?” at the end so dull and lifeless.

I enjoy New Again, but I think it has the worst production of all their albums. It some how sounds squeaky clean and tinny all at once.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

Happiness Is is very nearly my favourite. there's one or two songs I would have swapped out for the b-sides, but that same sentiment applies to like... every album this band has made lol

Tidal Wave is probably front to back my favourite

I also liked Happiness Is best out of everything post Louder Now, actually. And Tidal Wave, I've actually not yet heard all the way through, but it was ok. I really mostly just remember the videos though. The one with Adam and John having lunch in the back of the van or truck. That was cute! Ha!

And Adam going all over town looking a wreck...wthell tho?! No one helped him except when he was already almost dead or dead?! Wait...how DID that end?? Think it confused me. Lol

  24. El Paso and Flicker Fade are the only two songs I go back to in this original lineup gen 2 era.
