    Be my alibi?

Hopefully Jessica Williams new comedy central show can fill the space. It's purely subjective, but Wilmore didn't have a great t.v. personality as he was very monotone in his deliveries, material was good. But the show wasn't captivating. Similar reason I never watched 60 minutes, the show was very informative, but watching it put me to sleep.

Jessica Williams is doing a scripted comedy and not like a talk show, right? Or maybe something more like Not Safe that's kind of structured but with an audience and definitely weekly. Or is none of that information out yet?

No idea, I just know she has a new project in the works with Comedy Central. Williams or Minhaj would have been solid choices to have their own talk show though, excellent T.V. personalities.

Actually now that I think about it, Aasif Mandvi might have been a good host....though I think his style works better as a correspondent.

Mandvi would need some work as his t.v. personality was a bit 1 dimensional. Talk with a loud voice.

I'm watching the Triumph election special on Hulu and this bit with fake Trump ads is both hilarious and horrifying.

The best/lowest part of that segment was the suggestion to "fake" vaccinate undocumented immigrants. My body didn't know whether to laugh or shudder.

Aetna to pull out of most Obamacare exchanges

Capitalism is fucking frustrating. The worst part is Aetna is most likely using this because the Justice Department is holding up its merger. Lives are at stake and these companies are playing games to get their way.

doesn't this p much state that this is how obamacare has led to premiums rising. correct me if i'm wrong but i felt like you were trying to convince me otherwise. unless i'm missing something or am misunderstanding, then never mind heh. this just all sucks though regardless. it's been incredibly frustrating.

  24. While the article technically supports that statement, it isn't really what it's saying. Obamacare closes a lot of loopholes that insurance companies have historically used to not actually do the thing they're supposed to do - pay for it when people get sick.

The insurance companies are raising premiums because their bottom line is the goal, not providing good coverage to people who need it. When they cannot deny coverage to the sick, they have to pay out far more often and their income shrinks. They raise premiums in response. That's why the article said that companies who are doing the best on the Obamacare market are the ones who typically deal in Medicaid. So really, what Obamacare is doing is illustrating the inherent issues with having capitalism behind our healthcare system in the first place. Insurance companies are claiming the system isn't working because it's easier than owning how despicable their business practices are, and unfortunately it's families like yours that are suffering because of it.

So, Obamacare is purely responsible for rising premiums if you buy into corporate greed being inevitable and out of human control. Otherwise, it's more complicated. Either way, it's awful and I'm really, really sorry it's hitting you and yours so hard. :uhoh:

Idk, I see obamacare as a tiny bandaid on a rotting flesh wound... It solves some problems but ultimately doesn't fix the issue, which is a toxic system that leeches off of the fact that humans fundamentally need healthcare. And it's frustrating that the ACA wasn't able to do more with that, cause even if it had wanted to, Congress kicked and screamed like mad.
