Btw loved 1Br..another great example of how to make a film work in a small space.

 

new addition on Netflix! The lead in it makes it worth watching.

 

I’d argue 2 is a better film if they touched more on Tiffany’s past rather than just a “funhouse” tease for not even 2 minutes.

Finished In Search Of Darkness last night. What a great documentary

 

It really is. As mentioned before...the only downside of that documentary was the Dead Meat guy. I don't understand why he has to talk like that. Change your inflection dude.

 

Man, I hope this is good. And pray Shudder one day gets 1080p.

 

Curious if this is any good as well.

 

Shudder needs to up their App game, big time.

 

What was wrong with James? He’s always super-upbeat and even acknowledged how he can sometimes sound like a salesperson in his tone when speaking. He’s a legit good dude

 

Nothing is inherently "wrong" with him. He's obviously passionate about horror, but on a personal level I find him annoying.

 

James is great, he's just super scripted on Dead Meat and I assume that carried over to ISOD. I'm sure he was incredibly nervous to be a part of that doc, haha.

 

He just had a different tone than everyone else in the doc. Most people were conversational, while he was more narrative, which came off weird

 

Yeah, it was just like a big contrast from everyone else speaking to him. I really like him and his Dead Meat stuff too!

 

There were a few minutes in which I thought he was annoying but he wasn’t bad and not deserving of the hate he gets on Twitter

 

Completely agree with this. He shouldn't have felt any need to release a statement on it.

 

Definitely didn't mean to open a can of worms with my statement. I don't hate the guy or anything lol. Also had no clue that there was so much backlash on social media...I thought it was just my own irrational intolerance.

 

I just checked his twitter for the first time, damn I feel like an ass now.

 

Haha don't worry about it. I'm a huge fan of his/Dead Meat and I've been down on his appearance in it since I watched.

A little over an hour into In Search of Darkness.

Tom Adkins seems cool as hell, I want to have a beer with him and just listen to stories.

Joe Bob's makeup is much more distracting than James A. I like how they've used him so far to set up the plot of some movies while other's tell you their personal experience with those movies, but we'll see.

 

Atkins is so wholesome. I agree..it’d be amazing to just shoot the shit with him.
