I didn’t realize a bunch of games are on sale on the eshop. I he a $20 gift card so I picked up The Stick it Truth because I’ve been wanting to replay it. Debating about picking up Unravel Two while I’m at it. Has anyone played that?

 

Vase is not exactly wrong in as so far as that 90% of the content of the thread has been complaining about release dates or lack thereof, the absence of directs, or the content of directs if one does come out lol

 

I completely get it, I really really do. We all want Nintendo to finally release something, but having the conversation over and over again any time we get any news about a new game on Switch is just so draining and annoying.

Trust me, I'd love to be playing Sunshine and the Prime Trilogy right now, but I'm also getting myself into more indies and becoming really excited for stuff like Taiko, The Last Campfire, Captain Tsubasa: Rise Of New Champions and a ton more stuff.

It's not like I have a shortage of things to play, it's just first party shortage and though that can suck a bit, I'm playing amazing games like Spiritfarer and Cross Code.

 

I think the online video game discourse is broken beyond repair

 

But we try so hard to be serious and civil

 

I think it’s the fact that discourse usually goes like this:

“an open ended comment/comment on liking something”

“a negative retort or a 5 paragraph essay on why, in fact, the thing you like is bad”

 

That is part of it, but the opposite is also true, where well thought through criticism is met with, uh, fanboy-ism. But people also just talk about nonsense all the time (in Nintendo's case, literall commercials) and that's also tiresome.

looking around rn to see if there are any cool smaller/indie games for the switch. Haven't turned it on a lil while so looking for something fun.

Both of the South Park games are pretty good. The first one is the best Paper Mario game since TTYD.

 

Yeah those are great, especially the first one, especially if you love South Park

 

I really dug what they did with the battle system in the second one.

 

Well I’ve played The Stick if Truth before on PS4, it’s just been a few years and I wanted to play it again. I didn’t even know it was on the Switch. I knew The Fractured But Whole was on there but that was it. I have a few funds left over from the gift card, so I’m looking for other cheap games and maybe some stuff I haven’t considered. I saw that Unravel Two game is on sale, but don’t really know much about it. It looks interesting.
