I’m gonna watch dynamite probably live on Saturday (I have to wait a week to stream it on my bro’s youtube tv account so I prefer to watch it live) and then I’ll watch takeover Sunday maybe. Might watch the good stuff from summer slam if there is any. But main roster stuff I’m out of the loop on so someone else will have to answer summer slam.

it's not about fans of mcafee, it's the 'credibility' that a former football player is wrestling someone that get wwe access to the sports outlets that the nxt product alone wouldn't get them. no different than when adam jones and d'angelo williams wrestled in impact, or to a similar extent, having mike tyson on aew. that former/current mainstream sports athlete will always help a brand get exposure from outlets that they normally wouldn't get on their own, regardless of how much we like the brand or dislike the outside talent.

 

Wwe gets pub on ESPN/SI/fox, etc (especially compared to like 6-7 years ago). Getting that exposure is only good if you are converting non fans into fans or bringing back old fans. So you’re counting on mcafee’s following tuning in otherwise you’re expecting just general nfl fans to tune in which I doubt will happen when there is the NBA or NHL playoffs and baseball as well to watch. I don’t see how this has any lasting bump to the ratings at all and without that you’re putting your top guy against a non-wrestler where, again, no outcome helps your top guy. The only person who benefits here is pat and pat alone.
