Don't forget the Quibi CEO. Honestly, that's almost too perfect for today's Democratic Party

they always love having a few people from the “other team” to say “see we can appeal to everyone”. Repubs jacked off all over themselves about having Lieberman

Sorry if i'm going off-topic, but i always wondered what is the difference between senator, congressman, governor and councilman?

  14. council represents a city
Congressman represents a district (which can include multiple cities)
Governor oversees the entire state, kind of like a president of the state if you will
Senators represent their states in congress (each state has 2 senators)

it’s confusing even for most Americans

Our national government has a legislative branch that is made up of two sides, the senate (senators), which each state gets 2 of, and the House of Representatives (which is made up of congressmen, whose districts are drawn to be chunks of states and the amount each state has depends on their population)

States have their own governments though, and that’s where the governor comes in. He is.c as Popdisaster said, kind of the ‘president’ of the state. Councilman are usually a term reserved for local governments (like cities or counties, which are just subsections of states). So a city or county may have a city or county council, and those members are called councilmen.

Thanks! I just read a little bit more about US Congress on Wikipedia and yes, it is a little bit confusing.

What i find interesting is that the ratio of republican and democratic representatives is always approximately 50/50. Same in the presidential elections, no one ever won with more than 60% of votes. Why is it like that?

  20. So glad Hannah is supposed to go back to teaching, in person, at a college next week. Fan-fucking-tastic.

We're still three weeks out from school starting, but we've had consecutive meetings with our superintendent and principal, and they can't answer any questions (there were like forty that they had to get back to us). I guess it's why these sorts of people shouldn't be making decisions better suited for epidemiologists.
