Cody and MJF can resume their feud down the road - I feel like AEW is gonna be a lot better at long term booking than other promotions. Especially since Cody and MJF don't need a title involved to make it a money feud.

I wanna see Cody turn heel and start a stable because you can have amazing feuds with The Elite. I want to see Cody or MJF cost Omega and Page the tag titles to FTR because I want Omega and/or Page to go after the world title.

they have so many opportunities to make a ton of cool angles.

 

I’m going to agree with @Drew Beringer here for once. At first the problem I had with them using the ex WWE guys was at first it seemed like it was only ex WWE people working together. It was Cody vs Spears. It was Mox/Jericho/Hager. Cody/Dustin. Then in another corner it was the indie guys. But since then they’ve done a good job of mixing it up.

I’ll also admit that I’m more biased toward wwe because I’ve just been conditioned to accept the mediocrity but at the same time I have to tell myself not to be overly critical of AEW just because I want to push back against the universal praise and hype.

 

I’ve never had a problem with them using WWE guys. Especially as they have some of the best talent that WWE fucked up (Ambrose, Harper, Neville). I just thought it would be a good opportunity to make a new big name that’s not ex WWE. Because if all goes well, a new 4 Horseman would be amazing and could definitely attract some lapsed fans. I’m just not sure if Spears is the right guy for that group.

Yeah Spears is the one ex WWE guy that I don't think deserves to be pushed. He had his one big match with Cody that wasn't that good and he's only gotten more bland since then.

Rly? I genuinely enjoyed him in his aew heel run. He just comes off as so unjustifiably cocky that i kinda buy him as a heel.

The ex wwe guys are pushed, yes. Also the njpw elite guys. But AEW also has done a grear job in increasing the market value of indie guys: Private Party, MJF, Jungle Boy, Darby Allin, Butcher & Blade...i knew none of these guys before, and now I genuinely buy them at least as midcard "stars"

 

Would much rather have the 4th guy be someone like Cobb or Cage.
