This October will be the 20th anniversary of Hybrid Theory and the band has said they're going all out to celebrate it with a lot of cool things through out the next year (this site being one of them). They sent out a message to fans asking for any live photos and old memorabilia from that era. Everything looks like it's leading up to a 20th anniversary re-issue of the album with old demos and most likely unreleased stuff.

On one of Mike's twitch streams a couple of moths ago, there was a clearly visible folder on his screen containing old demos and the folder was called "Masters For Review." It's pretty much confirmed that it was Chester's audition tape, which has never been heard publicly. I do remember reading in multiple interviews that they sent Chester the tracks and he then went to a local studio to record his vocals over them and that's how they auditioned him essentially before he flew out to California. All of the band's demos from 1999-2000 have been out there on the internet for like 15 years, so a lot of what will be included will most likely be those demos, just mastered properly. I'll also assume it will included the Hybrid Theory EP from 1999, which has never been properly released to the public besides when it was re-issued in 2001 as the CD included in the first year of the LP Underground.

Also all of the art work on the site is most likely never before seen alternate artwork from the time. It does look very Y2K, and they have said the label wanted them to change their look & logo because it looked "too Asian" (even though 2 of the members are Asian). This is also from 1999, as there's only 5 members in the pictures because Phoenix had quit the band to go on tour with his other band (bet he's glad he made the choice to come back).

Even though a lot of this stuff has been floating out there for quite some time, there is A LOT of material from this era. The band did multiple demo recordings, the Hybrid Theory EP, demos from the Hybrid Theory sessions, there's an unmastered Hybrid Theory with a lot mixing changes and some unedited stuff on it. There's the b-sides ("My December" & "High Voltage"), an unreleased live album from this era.

Ok, but that link...it goes to a page you can't access?? I mean, is it supposed to just be an image of their screen??

It's "emulating" the band's computer back in 2000. You can poke around in there and find clues as to what they have planned for the 20th anniversary release. They're slowly adding in new content over the next week or so, but as of right now there isn't much besides some emails and official confirmation that Reading My Eyes and demos of Forgotten, A Place For My Head, and Runaway (Stick N Move technically is a separate song, but it basically evolved into Runaway) are some of what's being released.

Oh, and there's Solitaire, which I've been playing pretty much nonstop since this started lol

Sounds cool, but none of that worked for me! :P

didn't they re-record at least "Carousel" and "And One" for Hybrid Theory proper but those versions never came out? I would melt if we got a release of those

I'm so here for early demos, the Hybrid Theory was has so many great b sides and demos I already know, anything new is exciting

Yeah. Carousel, And One, Part of Me, and High Voltage were all worked on and considered for the actual album. The only one that came out officially was High Voltage, but later versions of the others leaked through demo CDs over the years.

I've ventured into the LP wikis and listened to demos and such in the past, but for some reason I didn't know 'She Couldn't' existed until the other day. Pretty cool. Excited to see what they release from this era!

They put up a bunch of One Step Closer themed merch and it says there will be more merch drops, hopefully for other songs.

    Amazon leaked this.

October 9, “super deluxe” box set with the Hybrid Theory EP, the album, and Reanimation, all on vinyl. 3 DVDs, and 5 CDs. and It looks like a photo book and some prints. Fuck that price, but I just can not say no to this.

Honestly, $200 for that is a pretty reasonable price IMO

I totally did not see the price on the right haha. I just kept zooming in on the price next to the picture and thought it said either 299 or 399. So much happier that it’s only 200, I would pay that alone just for the EP vinyl and the CDs.

    God that is so expensive

Hopefully the sell the bits seperately, 'cause I cannot afford this, but I would buy Hybrid Theory EP on vinyl in a heartbeat

OOOOOf kinda want it just for Reanimation. Used to think the music video for Pts Of Athrty was the coolest shit ever.

I guess the 5 CDs are just Hybrid Theory, Reanimation, B-Sides & Rarities, Forgotten Demos, and LPU rarities
