Then he’s an idiot because it’s an awful angle that only works to make him look dumb (if he doesn’t beat a retired nfl punter) or the outcome is trivial because a wrestler SHOULD beat a non wrestler. If he’s gonna beat up a media personality can it be Sam Roberts instead? Slap the Art Garfunkel hair off his god damn head. That’d make me tune in.

 

People in NXT supposedly aren't happy that they lose to AEW most of the time and the writing team has been shaken up recently. Pretty sure Cole vs. Buck, pushing Dexter Lumis, all of these random ass 3 ways and futhering the destruction of Rhea isn't helping at all. They have really fucked up a lot of things recently depsite having a good product and being loaded with talent. Keith Lee is the only thing right now that they are doing right and I bet they will ruin that by putting Cross over.

Same. He’s got that look they like too. But if they plan on giving him the title, I wish Lee wasn’t the transitional champ to do it.

It’s a weird nitpick but his head shape/face doesn’t fit the gimmick lol. I look at him and I’m like he kinda seems like a dweeb and not intimidating at all. I also wish Keith Lee didn’t relinquish the NA title because I think there could’ve been cool things done with a double champ.

 

I don't think this environment feeds into the double champ thing working. Its also been done to death lately. Becky, Seth, Bayley, Sasha, and Kofi were all double champs in the last two years.

Also, following NJPW, it just hasn't worked for me. Its tough to make dropping one singles belt work without something flukey. I'd rather the belt be on someone else. Its bad enough how many people are squandered.

 

Fair point. I’ve not kept up with main roster storylines in probably 1.5 years so I didn’t realize a lot of double champs have been booked. Makes sense.
