my first car was a 97(?) cherokee. didn't last long. then i got an 06 pontiac g6 which was nice for a while. then i had a 2011 nissan altima for a while which was fucking dope but got stolen when i lived in philly. so now ive got the 09 escape, she's rough around the edges but she gets the job done. and its blue, my favorite color.

I’d like to get a CRV. I have an Elantra I bought off my friend but I’ve put 85k miles on it in less than three years and I’ve never had a new car and the CRV is where I was leaving pre covid. Now I can’t get myself to pull the trigger on any financial commitments for the foreseeable future.

I’ve been driving a 2008 Nissan Versa for 12 years now and I want a new car and am probably gonna get one soon. Thing is, I’ve worked at home since last summer so I barely ever even use my car. If I go out with friends, I’ll Uber. And otherwise, it’s eating at home mostly and using my car once or twice a week to go to the store or pick up take out.

I got my oil changed last November and was due for another oil change in January or hitting 132,500 miles. It’s July now and I’m still only at 130,500 miles, haha

Moral of the story is I don’t NEED a new car at all because I’ll barely use it but I want one because I’m finally at a great financial point in my life so fuck it.

Had three of those cherokees growing up. $1500 cars don’t last. I ended up buying a 2015 Impreza last year and I love it so far.

I bought a brand new Mini Cooper when I was having a depressive episode. I regret the decision financially, but love the car so much.

My very first car was an Oldsmobile cutlass supreme, but I don’t remember the year. My dad got it for me from a used car lot, so naturally it didn’t last very long. After that became too much of a chore to keep running, I got my great uncle’s Mercury Sable since he wasn’t driving much anymore. That thing was beat to hell by the time I stopped driving it, it had no back bumper lol. I was parked at a friends house in the city when it was snowing one night and some idiot in a truck was dragging someone on a sled behind them through the street and the person ended up slamming into my bumper (that was already damaged a bit) and obliterated the plastic haha.

The front seat of that car was a bench-style one though and the backseat was also very roomy. So an excellent car to have when you’re in High school and in a long term relationship:eh:

I would suggest you not listen to Peterson on postmodernism unless you want to see how truncated and inaccurate his discussions of the subject are. Peterson is not a philosopher, and although post-modernism is not limited to philosophy, he often frames his discussion as if he's talking about postmodern philosophy.

If you haven't already done so, you (and others) should check out two free encyclopedias of philosophy that are free online and generally provide much more accurate and helpful summaries. They also give suggestions for further reading.

My first car was a 95 Acura Integra that I bought for $2k and immediately ended up having to pay another $2k just to get the damn thing inspected because the last owner slammed the thing to the ground with aftermarket shocks and put some weird window tint that I had to take off with a hair dryer, among a couple other issues. Ended up totalling it within a year because my GPS fell under my pedal while approaching a stop and I didn't want to be unable to... Brake haha. Ran into an SUV at like 5mph, but since I was so low, I went under it and it tore apart the hood of my car. No damage to theirs.

Currently have had a 1997 Lexus ES300 for 5 years now and it's the most comfortable car I've ever driven in my life. And newer cars have so many blind spots because of the airbags they put along the panels of the windshields, so I feel blind to the world in my fiance's 2014 Rogue or my dad's 2007 Camry
