i don't know for certain what their plans were, but i would wager that COVID has had SOME sort of impact on their ability to write/record together for another album, crazy to be approaching the 4th anniv. of TW. They've never gone more than 3 years between albums.

I would have bet $ that they would have had an album released by the end of 2020.

I’m looking forward to new music whenever that it is. They probably needed the creative break to readjust after touring like crazy, growing and fostering their families, and figuring out what’s next. So, this quarantine stuff might be a blessing in disguise for the band.

It's also very cool to see Fred be so active with his youtube account and very interactive with fans. The guy tries to respond to every comment and it's wonderful. I hope he puts out new stuff. Him and Eddie should join forces again.

Just found out that Eddie lives in the same town as a college buddy of mine. He teaches at Eddie's daughter's school.

Assuming he still lives in Sandusky, he has lived there for probably 10 or so years now. At least. It's about an hour west of me, and I would see him from time to time around the Cleveland area.

A weekly podcast, I guess - Talking Back Sunday. That was the first episode.

man, that was a really great listen indeed. made me so happy to hear that he (matt) seems to have a generally positive outlook on TBS and so cool to hear that they had positive times seeing eachother (at a show i was at no less!) after so long.

I saw this the other day after it popped up in my youtube recs. I kinda skimmed it since it's obviously insanely long and detailed technical talk but the main thing I got is that it originally started with the full band after the inhale which sounds kinda weird now after how it actually is. (About 2hrs 12 if anyone is interested to hear.) I'm so glad they didn't go with it.

Also the big chord that slides down after the huge drum fill in the last chorus is so fucking good and sound amazing isolated like that.

That Eric Valentine video is pretty cool. Even though I'm not a fan of how his TBS records sound overall, it's still interesting to see his approach.

I remember really liking the production on Louder Now, but it’s different these days. The production didn’t age well for me.

    not a doctor

This is one of the many reasons I listen to Louder Now pt.2

The songs sound massive. That's not to say they don't on the record.. the bass could've used a boost.

It's WILD to me how much they talk about Eric Valentine's drum tones. Louder Now is absolutely abysmal to me.
