It is a very nuanced subject especially when it comes to children if you listened to the podcast you'd be able to find out about people close to the subject and what she learned from them...teenagers are able to get hormones now without their parents consent or any therapy. It is NOT something to be taken lightly as it can cause health problems and is major surgery. I work with children so this subject is VERY serious for me. Learn how some trans people say her book has nothing to do with them, learn how some trans people don't want her to have a platform at all to talk about the mental health of teenage girls not even about them, learn how nobody stands up for young girls if there is a biological male who hasnt even gone through surgery yet and is showering with them and girls have to be 100 percent ok with it and no one will stick up for them, learn how young girls get ostracized if they speak out on how they don't feel comfortable with a male who wants to transition playing on the same sports team because they biologically have an advantage. You all can call this junk science or you can look up that it might cause fertility problems etc. and if no one is worried that little kids could ever face some of those problems in the future, you are not thinking critically and that is a huge problem. This is something that needs to be taken seriously and not something for a 4 year old to self diagnose without further looking into it. I want everyone to be equal but it shouldn't be at the expense of young girls and taking away their rights to say anything.

They should of course be able to express themselves and the parents should support them dressing how they want and call them the proper pronoun/name and treat them with respect....while simultaneously going to therapy and having support from family and their therapist until a more final decision can be made.
