You can’t make me listen to a 3 hour podcast from people I actually like

 

people underrate this aspect

 

podcasts should be 22 minutes long. same as a sitcom episode.

 

doughboys doesn’t even start discussing the restaurant until 45 in lol

Like how you gonna come in this thread and say "you only posted 1 minute of a 3 hour podcast" as if posting a full 3 hours would of been helpful

 

Marc Maron has the best podcast I'd listen for 3 hours

 

you’ve been on the record saying podcasts shouldn’t exist, don’t act like your takes on pods are normal!

 

maron is great and has been on a roll the last year. pretty essential. not to be grim, but especially after lynn passed.

 

I don’t listen to podcasts unless they’re 2+ hours because that’s how you get the most bang for your buck

 

I actually couldn't get much of a word in to defend my point of view without attacks on my character/me as a person...so why is it worth it to me to even try? I'll just end up getting frustrated. People need to learn how to talk about stuff objectively again without getting emotions involved. I have much to say about the trans interview with that Abagail lady, freedom of speech, and giving people access to platforms (I'm not meaning rich people when I say that). People just assume I'm unlearned/misinformed if I don't agree with every single thing they believe. I would give it a real effort to be discussed if I knew people would come in with an open mind and talk about everything that's really going on with out getting angry.

calling someone misinformed and uninformed is not a character attack. also if someone tells me its better for me when racists are loud so I can avoid them, i'd say they are misinformed/uninformed.

literally nothing stopping you from defending your point of view, no one can interrupt or talk over you on a forum.

 

In the first few minutes she explains the book is not about trans adults that have gone through therapy and made that decision for themselves...she is talking about children/teenagers who might not 100 percent be aware of who they are yet and it's a discussion around that. A lot of journalists won't come near it because it's such a hot button issue but she finally agreed to talking about it. Concerns about how gender identity discussion can affect children in different ways should not be considered transphobic

 

i have a few older eps I’ll occasionally catch up on and the other day was with Ben Schwartz from February and I think it was around the time he started to publicly mention they were dating and things going well and it made my heart sink

 

I see a lot of "I have a lot to say about x but I can't because the mob will come get me" but zero actual substance. If you have so much to say, say it and convince us your viewpoint is legitimate. Don't just stan Joe Rogan and expect people to agree with you

 

People are angry and testy because we're simultaneously enduring a pandemic and a constitutional crisis and everything sucks

Making it more difficult for young people to be who they are only hurts young people. It is anti-trans.

 

as someone who knows a decent amount of trans people, let me tell you not being able to express themselves and their gender growing up lead to a lot of this self harm these people are pretending to care about.
