I’ve tried because a couple of my friends love his podcast but it’s mostly just just been his asshole conservative “cancel culture free speech” comedian friends and right wingers with a few decent guests here and there. When his podcasts have been good it’s never been him, it’s always the guest. Russell Brand is one that stood out as good but not because of Rogan. Some mma ones where he only talked mma were good. When they suck though he contributes to the awfulness because that’s who he is. Btw I looked up who he had today in responding to this and he had Ben Shapiro on. TODAY. I mean come the fuck on.

 

Joe Rogan is one of the biggest morons in entertainment. Just colossally dumb. Plus he’s been an easy mark for right wing grifters so many times that it’s safe to say he’s actively harmful. Sharing clips of his show credulously is not something anyone should do.

 

Correct, that is my response to people asking me to watch extremely rich bigots under the hilarious banner of discussing their “cancelation.” Do better.

 

I 100 percent disagree with your reductionist view that he's just a dumb meat head. Yea he says stupid shit sometimes but at least he's not afraid to make mistakes and say shit in a honest way and he's the first to admit if he's actually wrong. He can be convinced of stupid things sometimes but that's bc he keeps an open mind...then scientists usually sway him back the other way. Just because he keeps an open platform doesn't mean he likes who he has on always....it's called open discourse which we are seeing less and less of everyday. Since it's not really able to happen otherwise and news media just plays to exactly what you want to hear so you only get one side of the narrative podcasts like Rogans are becoming increasingly popular.

yeah he'll admit he's wrong and then next podcast when a writer from wsj says being trans is the same as cutting and witchcraft and he just nods along it all goes out the window. he's too easily swayed and his guests skew so heavily towards the right wing its him who is hardly listening to other viewpoints, not us, i get plenty of conservative talking points in my feed, i just so happen to think theyre dumb as shit and easily dismissed. doesnt mean i dont hear them.
