What ever happened to the 2nd antemasque album with Travis Barker?

 

Was finished and shelves for ATDI. Cedric claimed it was gonna get a release but I don’t think we’ll ever see it

this would have blown my mind a decade ago - maybe even 5 years ago

now, if this is true, it’s kinda of a disappointment :(

 

can't believe it took fucking Kanye West to remind me of how much I loved Deloused and Frances back in the day. Just ran through both of them again and wow, i have so much more appreciation for these records now than I did when I was in high school

 

Yup, they’re mindblowingly brilliant.

Anyone ever give the side projects a listen? Curious what the best Mars Volta-adjacent records are like.

 

Omar’s Cryptomnesia album is like Volta but with a dash of PCP. Omar’s solo albums vary greatly but a lot of the early stuff is very Volta-esque and even sometimes features Cedric

Mostly curious about the stuff that isn’t Sparta or ATDI (or ANTEMASQUE, which I never fell in love with). Omar’s got TOOOONS of material so I needed some direction on that. Guess I’ll start with the albums y’all name dropped and work from there

 

I love Antemasque and will forever be so angry the second record was never released

 

Especially after those live videos. Damn.

 

I was at the damn show where they played the whole album front to back!@!@!!!

 

Ahhh that’s dope. Cedric claims every few months or so that it will get released but I doubt it. I’m sure it’s worth a release solely on the basis of having Travis Barker promote it but whatever

 

I just can't believe the album has been finished for 5 years, it's insane

 

Why wouldn’t they release it? Contract disputes or something?
