Oh damn dude, it's been a while for me.

 

It just happened a couple days ago

 

I think EVIL getting the IWGP title was a move to create more storylines given a lot of people are still out at NJPW. Moving him to Bullet Club gives them more life again with White out. EVIL has always felt like the odd man out in LIJ, and was the easiest to build a betrayal storyline around. Sanada is too popular with the fans.

Poor Naito though lol

 

a few nits to pick about the cup and dominion:

i think they could have saved the defection of evil to the bc until the day of dominion. it's cool that naito has had one on one matches through tournaments in the past with fellow members of lij, but to my knowledge, he's never had the match with evil as brethren. you could have still had gedo interfere in the cup final with a quick most match promo towards okada saying something like 'you think we're through? we've just begun' and left the defection up in the air until dominion. then after naito lost the straps, build a story leading up to g1 where he has to win the climax to get his redemption, while evil beats everyone in lij in singles matches.

on the topic of two straps: i don't understand why naito had to defend both titles in a single match rather than separately. if the recurring theme is to have a double champion, then the second belt isn't really necessary if it isn't being defended separately.

what DOES intrigue me is the bullet club story. as of now i don't picture evil being the leader of the club being double champ, regardless if white or kenta are unavailable due to the rona. once either or both return to consistent action, i'd want to see how that plays out.

overall, though i didn't watch much of the cup or the dominion event, from the two matches i did see (okada/evil, naito/evil), it was so refreshing to watch a wrestling event in an actual arena with an actual authentic audience.

 

Had to be one of the dumbest things I've ever seen. And not the fun kinda dumb like Otis.

I give some slack for the sake of what is going on obviously, but there's just so many things in WWE right now that flat out aren't working. And they just keep plugging them. I don't there is a single match on the upcoming PPV card that's not a product of some dull rehashed prior story line.

 

I always felt that Sanada or Bushi were the odd man out when it came to LIJ.

I was telling a friend of mine yesterday that I'd like to see Sanada win the G1 this year and have the title match with Evil for either belt, then beat him, 2021 should be the year of the cold skull
