It ends in one of the best possible ways it can.

Dying cleans things up too nicely, but at the same time he doesn't get brought down for some of his biggest sins. It is a fairly minor event that sends him to jail, but it is the one that wakes him up and wakes up the people around him.

 

I don't even remember why he went to jail now that you mention it. Was it just breaking into the house?

 

Yeah he said in the last episode that he technically only went in for breaking and entering, but he felt like it was really for everything.

 

If you pause on the short shot of him in court you'll see the jury is filled with people he's screwed over in past episodes

been delaying watching the final season just because i wasn’t mentally prepared for it and im glad i did

just one of the best TV shows there. holy shit those last 2 episodes. i kinda wish there was an extra season that fleshed out all the storylines even more. i wanted to see more scenes of Maude/Todd , Judah/Princess, Diane/Guy, Todd/parents, Diane/Guy’s son but maybe it’s just me not being ready to leave this show

 

also Paige Sinclair is amazing

this show makes the most entertaining characters

 

No amount of holding off on this final season could’ve prepared me. Jesus fucking Christ. What a show this was.

 

deserves to go down as one of the greatest shows of all time imo

 

I didn’t see this show ending the way it did for most of the characters, and yet I still think it ended in the most fitting way it could. “And then you keep living” were perfect words to round it out — there was no big send off or grand exit, it truly is just like, “yeah all of this shit happened, and now everyone is going to continue their lives”. Each of the last interactions were wonderful and it makes me so happy to see where they’re all at by the finale, especially PC.

For all of the incredible writing, humor, and innovation this show has had to offer, I don’t know if I’ll have it in me to watch it again. At least anytime soon. But no matter what, it will absolutely be sitting heavily at the bottom of my heart for a long time.

 

It is in my top ten.

Like you, I love the way it ended and those last interactions. But, man I loved The View From Halfway Down, it could have easily served as the series finale for me.

Hahahaha agreed. That is why I am so glad they had the actual finale.

 

The season 4 ending scene is so devastating given how the series turns out.

I would love to know the average joke per minute type stats for this show, because I’m watching the first episode of season 4 and they had these two lines like ten seconds apart:
I haven’t been this nervous since Diane was vacuuming during a thunder storm on the Fourth of July and I had to take a bath and there was a stranger in our yard.

Probably one of the best endings of any show, and it didn't take the two easy obvious routes.

 

I'm pretty sure, ratio-wise, Let's Find Out legit has the highest and most consistent rate of jokes I've seen in any episode of TV. legit every few seconds in that thing there's a moment that has me belly laughing, and it still finds time for the emotional gut punch somehow. masterpiece

 

30 rock has to be up there

 

My gut tells me that Surprise! has to be up there, but I don't know if it actually had one of the highest "jokes per minute" of the series or if it was just that every single joke in that episode landed perfectly.
