Not sure I get what you’re saying, like people joking about having a bad time makes it hard for people genuinely struggling to open up? That’s something I’ve seen for sure, sometimes tying into things always being treated with humor or sarcasm and sometimes missing what’s going on when someone gets serious.


Also yeah I’ve moved away from guys and dudes almost entirely now. I used to say “you guys” all the time because I had negative associations with y’all and picked that alternative up along the way, but now I’ve come around to respecting and appreciating y’all and listening to the people who have told me guys is exclusive and not great. Dude is kind of on a case by case basis if I know the person, but in general I know a lot of people who are upset by it and that’s enough for me.

i'm not sure this is the general consensus on that though

 

I only ever dip my grilled cheese in tomato soup, which is a perfect food pairing. When I worked at camp we had pretty terrible grilled cheeses at least once a week, and in that situation I dipped them in ranch mixed with sriracha just to get them down. I would never want to relive that flavor now though, lol.

Well, it’s closed, so......

They had some truly great food but a lot of the lunches were the worst and those were probably the peak bad dish. They were made with the cheapest possible white bread and cheese from Sysco and since they were making them for hundreds of people at a time they never left them on the grill long enough so they didn’t melt or brown properly and just became a dry but somehow also soggy mess. Blech.
