Started to pick favorites and then realized I was picking half the album haha. Fantastic return, entrancing from front to back

 

gonna take this one out for a night run - hope it shows up on Spotify soon altho I feel it might be Friday with all new releases

 

Buy it from Bandcamp! They deserve the money and it's only 8 bucks.

 

Bandcamp is one of the best things to happen to the industry in the digital era. Supporting legends like Hum through their platform is what you might call a win-win.

Have no problem supporting them, and am planning to buy it tonight. Though I like to have things on Spotify where I listen to a majority of my music.

Trying to think of another band coming back from a 20+ year stretch between releases with something immediately, universally loved like this has been

 

Slowdive and A Tribe Called Quest come to mind

 

My Bloody Valentine too but yeah this rules so far. Only on Desert Rambler and I’m very happy with it

Almost a 20 year stretch but the Failure album seemed universally liked. It didn't have the same level of hype as this one for sure.

 

tbf it’s not like there are many, you’re definitely right about that haha. Ride, American Football, and Quicksand all gave it a shot in the last few years too and reception was pretty lukewarm. This immediately blows all of those out of the water

 

On to "In The Den", that guitar tone is gnarly. So much depth.

well, I guess technically they never left, maybe? but a new record makes it feel real

 

It's weird how even upon hearing these new songs back to back, this still doesn't feel real. It feels like there were rumors of a potential new album as early as 2010 or something.

I think that's even how I found out about the band in the first place.

 

I love that album.

I'd give this record a bit more time before saying it's universally loved. It's only been out a few hours.

 

also: if you dig Hum and have somehow never heard Failure, please get on that
