It's not really. The best coverage of Gamecock sports is at 247sports and they seem to think 6 wins is realistic.

 

I work in athletics. If you know anything about working in athletics, you would know you're not allowed to state information like that. I'll say it's on the departmental side, and not related to a particular sport and that's it.

Further more, I'm having trouble finding five wins here, let alone six.

The first 4 games are all winnable depending on how quickly the players pick up the new schemes.

Also wins over UMass, Mizzou, and WCU.

You're neglectin the fact that 6 of the 9 games lost last season weren't blowouts. The team has a lot of unknowns so it could be 6 wins it could be 3. No one really knows too much about the team.
