so he said he's hearing the album might be released around September

which is kind of a bummer but about what I expected

 

At this point September feels like it’s right around the corner. Give me Deftones and ETID this fall!

They recorded last summer and it’s still not done?

 

They recorded the music last summer. Chino wrote and recorded his vocals some time towards the end of the year. They were in the mixing process when lockdown happened.

 

Not at all. It could take less than a day, maybe slightly longer. If the mix has been finalised, and they've decided the artwork, the sequencing, album/song titles etc then it's basically down to the promotional campaign as to when it comes out.

I still remember the first time I heard the album, I bought it after I got off of work from the record store around the corner (pretty sure it was either a Sam Goody or a Coconuts) took it home and put it on in my room while I laid in bed flipping through the booklet. I was so floored by it and not really sure what I'd just heard that I immediately played it again.

Holy moly, DJ Shadow is a part of the remix album!! (They wanted Shadow to mix White Pony. I can only image how that would have sounded. I want to go to that timeline)
