One time I heard a HUGE gunshot kind of explosion in my garage when I was home alone. Keep in mind I was living in the UK. I was about 11? Scared the shit out of me. Eventually I crept into the garage to check it out (with a fucking frying pan as protection) and it turns out my fucking FOOTBALL (soccer for the odd folk here) exploded by itself.

Hahah I mean, my dad and brother had played football in the street a day or two prior - it made sense to me that maybe a piece of gravel got caught in it and it eventually caused it to pop. Otherwise there’s a ghost in my house who pops footballs for shits and giggles

I live out in the Bay Area but not in SF itself because it’s expensive and I wasn’t sure if I could handle life in a big city like that right off the bat. I kind of like living on the outskirts. Not too long to get there but not in the city so I have some escape and quiet.


Once when I lived in AZ there was a shootout between some people right outside my apartment and I never heard any of the gunshots. Only found out when I left for an appointment and found my car inside an active crime scene and cops all around.

 

Points in favor of the ghost then

 

i call it an urban suburb. grid pattern streets. close to queens (you all know what queens looks like. spiderman wasn't too far off lol) there's factories down the block from me too. and NEIGHBORS ALL AROUND. most of my noise comes from my neighbors on the side my bedroom faces. so fucking loud. they are always watching tv and movies in the garage.

my mom loves temecula. she has a glass from Jack's Nuts that she thinks is soooo funny and no one is allowed to use it.

 

yeah I live in a suburb in the Bay Area because SF doesn’t have a monopoly on being the Bay Area!!! I live about 30-45 min from Tampa in one direction & st pete in another

Psh. I have never heard any other area called that. Every other area wishes it could be as cool as SF’s Bay Area. (Also stupid expensive and full of hipsters).

I have no idea why I didn’t hear. I sleep fairly soundly I guess. I tend to sleep through most of the earthquakes here too lol.

 

not chickens but my neighbors keep birds in what looks like a huge doghouse, in the driveway, usually near my window. since there is no airplane noise, i hear them all the time.
there is a town on LI called Hicksville. it's not what it sounds like
