what the hell, this is awful. I'm sorry that happened to your family!

 

Had multiple run-ins with police growing up. A group of white friends and I had airsoft gun battles in the woods with realistic looking guns, just got a friendly talking to from a cop about not doing that. Once in eighth grade we were under curfew after a hurricane, and the same group and I were sleeping over a friend’s house in a rich neighborhood, snuck out in the middle of the night and ran from the bored police force for about three hours and they were legitimately nice to those of us they caught. But the interactions with police when I was around any black friends in high school went differently. Always unprovoked, always mean, twice violent for no reason. Learned a lot then.

Only police interaction I can remember as an adult was when an SUV was riding up on me about two feet away from my bumper with their high beams on so I couldn’t see them. Didn’t know why this person was riding me and I couldn’t get over to my right so I crossed double yellow into the carpool lane to get them off my back, then they changed lanes with me and got closer so I sped up a bit. They sped up with me until I was going about 85mph and then flicked their lights on to pull me over and gave me a choice between double yellow ticket or speeding ticket lol. Prick

Conservative Food Blogger Gives Police Boots Five Stars

 

The best (worst) police story I have is about something that happened to my boss's wife and child.

Long story short, her brother bought a house in town that he was renovating and she went there with her parents and child to check the place out. The house was completely gutted and construction had probably been going on for a month. Apparently a neighbor saw a car and people walking into the house and thought they were breaking in so they called the cops. The cop showed up and busted down the back door and pulled his gun out on them (remember that she was here with her parents and 4 year old child). Apparently he didn't stop pointing the gun at them until backup arrived.

I live in a town where literally nothing happens so the cops have nothing to do. Probably finally saw an opportunity to use his powers and got excited.

The cops in my town suck. People have told me plenty of stories of seeing them get drunk at the bars and then driving home themselves.

I watched the video again.

I am ashamed of the EMS crews that came in and man handled him the way that they did. I am ashamed that they did not immediately check a pulse, respiratory rate, and begin compressions. Negligent.

I don't know what their exact protocols are but you're taught that should be done within SECONDS of arriving on scene to an unresponsive person provided the scene is safe. The only situation they were not safe from were those disgusting cops. I've had to back out of scenes before that were way more unstable than this was.

I’m back to work this week and let me tell you what, it feels every bit as surreal and fucking anxiety-inducing as I thought it would be.
