Heh. I saw the first spam registration earlier today. The spam measures caught it. I enjoyed banning it.

Shout out to the days where you, me and Kurt were the only people on the whole site taking Taylor Swift seriously as an artist.

  7. On AP? I literally turned off registration of new accounts on that site because no one would fix it. It was either we had to try and delete them all every morning and it would take over virtually every forum with thousands of posts (and profiles) or I just kill registration at all. That was one of the last straws. Drove me insane to know the fix, or at least even little things we could do to try and help it not happen anymore, and it not happen. What an absolute mess.

  9. I'm probably never going to delete this bookmark. My browser won't feel right without it. Will the little icon stay after AP.net is gone?

  11. I'm gonna put up redirects probably Friday (maybe Saturday depending when the domain gets transfered to me) for everything. The icon ... may go away. But some browsers do a good job caching it.

Tried to find my first posts to talk about her music instead of her face, but apparently that thread's dead. Either it was archived or it was the Kurt thread that got deleted when his posts all vanished (I think at his request). Anyways, yeah, I'm glad we were ahead of the curve, before Speak Now came out.

I found this post by Dion bashing Taylor, which is hilarious because his avatar is current Taylor.

Yeah it was vaporized along with Kurt. Between his posts and Spo's posts disappearing, Iost like 20k posts probably. Haha

@Kyle is hk made a Brand New thread 30 after I made one and I will never forgive him. But my last post ever was quoting my first post ever in the Welcome Wagon thread, so I won't ruin that by correcting him there.

I just realized its time to delete the AP logo from my phone's home page. Also time to add Chorus. Change is weird

Love you buddy, you're my best friend and have been there for me through it all. You know as well as anyone how volatile I am and how crazy of a year I've been having and had at the end of last year. Can't thank you enough for giving me anything I need whenever I need it. You're a true friend, the kind most people are lucky to find even once in their life.

It feels like I haven't even been on AP that long('07), now it's leaving forever.... and I'm OK with that. Its going to be strange not clicking that bookmark and seeing that specific color pallet every day of my life. AP literally changed my life to a degree as it brought to me so many bands that I would have never known about without the recommendations of certain users, or that staff member taking the time to post that news article that that "random user" submitted, or that little "RIYL" section at the bottom of a review being the tipping point to check out an artist. It's kinda funny when my wife comes home and asks me what I'm up to or whatever, "oh just on Absolutepunk" is a reply I have a lot haha.

I've been apart of a some forum community in some way shape or form since probably 2001. I've always liked/loved having a little life outside my life where I can communicate with others with similar interests that I have. AP.new was that forum for my mid-late 20's, and now it looks like Chorus will be that place that takes me from 30 forward. Excited to move over to something new and stoked to say that I was one of the first 120 or so members. Little humble brag for when this site is featured in Business Week.

@Jason Tate Proud to say that I'm apart of this community you've started. Glad to see you making the changes that need to be made. Keep standing up for what is right. And that last few lines in your statement was a misty one. Keep up the great work!

@Jason Tate I stumbled upon an ancient version of AP while searching the internet for any reviews of Butch Walker's Letters back in the summer of 2004 (I think you had a pic of your then-gf and yourself holding one another haha). I lurked for a couple of years, reading through the TBS drama, an oddly-written review for FUCT that drew ire from many people on the site (including yourself), and then in the summer of 2006, I took the leap to become a full-fledged member and join the community.

By the time I got started on user reviews and caught the attention of the amazing Linda Ferreira, who sent me stacks of CDs of mostly no-name bands who I never listened to, I was diving head-first into getting into reviewing all sorts of records as a user in '07. I found the Swellers, got a shoutout from Adam Duritz, and in the spring of 2008, was given an almighty red name. Dream come true for me. Having the opportunity to review albums, feel a part of something that I knew meant a great deal to others, and contribute to the lore of AbsolutePunk was a rad experience for me. It defined a time in my life that I'll always look back on with great fondness... and not just for the early album advances and band gossip.

I have so many moments I've shared, stories to tell (good and bad), and friends I've made from my time at AP. I'm proud to have been there during the early stages of AP.net and now, the early stages of Chorus. It feels special to have that connection, that bond with so many others, and receiving the chance to contribute to a new community of those who feel like I do is just fucking rad. So, with all sincerity, thank you for all that you have provided for myself, and for all of us here. It's more than just a website; it's a way of life.

AbsolutePunk is dead; long live AbsolutePunk!
