  2. I can't tell if they're serious or not. The cellphone stuff was basically an entire subplot. Ike Barinholtz gives her the phone. These guys are funny, though.

Yea, I honestly couldn't say whether they genuinely forgot how she got it or purposely said they didn't know for fun. Either way it seems like some fans flipped out. I thought it was weird, but I didn't harass them about the fact that they did answer it.

I'm a little afraid to see this movie after what some are saying in here.. is it at least better than BvS ultimate edition? Even the longer directors people are praising more seemed pretty mediocre and boring.

I have a couple friends who are diehard fans and cosplay as Joker and Harley at all the cons, and they both loved it as comic fans, so I hope it's good!

Are you more of a Marvel or a DC guy? The reason I ask is because this tries really hard to capture what Marvel has done with their movies regarding the humor. It's just weird because there are some dark elements going on and the humor seems out of place.

    Lol wut?!?

I wonder how long it takes to type something like that. You would have to actively try to misspell words and generally sound stupid.

I think it's so funny that people are comparing this to Marvel Studios. I mean, sure, that might have been the goal. They certainly wanted this to have some GOTG feel. But, they sure as heck didn't succeed, lol. This mostly landed somewhere between modern DC film and Fox Marvel film.

Fox Marvel like X-Men? Yea, I could see that comparison. The music REALLY made it feel like GOTG, by the way.

Yep. And this film's songs definitely chased the GOTG vibe, but I wouldn't say it "felt like GOTG" so much as it "felt like it wanted to be GOTG." I don't know if it was the editing or what, but the songs felt so awkward and distracting.

The Eminem song while they were suiting up made me cringe.

I'd be really curious to see this film before they went back in and messed with the tone. The Joker was obviously super dark and not funny in the least bit, so it would have been nice to see what he could have been.

But whatever, I saw the movie, I'll buy it on Blu Ray for sure because it was fun for what it was.

Even before watching the video I guessed it was Die Antwoord by the jumbled mess of words. So I guess this is trying to say the Joker is based on him because of tats and Harley on the girl because of watches?

That's funny because I loved it....but I love the song. It made me think of the video where Dre and Em dressed as Batman and Robin and how that kind of relates....

    Be my alibi?

Isn't it well known that art imitates life? Also I'm finding I'm getting caught up on the name "Pawn_star", no clue what the reference is or who this individual is, but that's a stupid name. Also, I slightly hate you for helping in making stupid people famous.

Die Antwoord are a lot of things but I don't think I'd call them stupid.

That sentence they wrote might suggest otherwise. It may just be a persona, but who really knows. Comes off as highly unintelligent even if you think they are talented.

Hyper-stylized writing on the internet doesn't correlate to intelligence in a meaningful way. Cher isn't stupid either.

We should just dedicate this thread to their videos now. I was going to type out their name, but it is gibberish I can't spell.

So Comicbook.com ran with the Die Antwoord thing and I had to share one comment that I had to fight back laughing at work:

Stopped reading at "callin' ninja". I don't claim to have an abundance of legitimate brain cells, but the few that function need to be kept far from run on sentences that read like an amalgamation of personalized license plates and a 12 year olds hash tags.

very indifferent about their music... but really feel like yall should chill out on the way die antwoord chooses to type, we all understood what they were talking about so why does it matter? they're a south african rap/rave group that's part of their image and their culture and calling them idiots isn't a good look....?

@Jonesy it says "prawn_star" not "pawn" and it's probably a reference to District 9 if I had to guess

I can see why they would be annoyed if Ayer was talking about them on set, but that's nowhere close to the most annoying part about this movie. If you want to talk about whose an idiot why not figure out whatever idiots decided to have a trailer house make the final cut of this movie. jfc what a bad idea.

It's reminiscent of making fun of someone's intelligence because of their dialect, just a bad look in general.

That whole thing you chose to wrote just screams "Fanboy alert".

"An when ninja texted u sayin wassup wif dat u said nothin like a scared lil bitch." anyone who uses this dialect knows they won't be taken seriously and laughed at. Sorry.
