Congratulations, Jason. Gonna take me a while to get over AP but glad to be with your new endeavor from the very beginning.

 

I'm listening to the new 1975 and re-reading the AP thread for that album. The night the album leaked and everyone was listening to it at almost the exact same time and pouring out their feelings was truly magical. Can't wait for the first thread on Chorus that gives me that same feeling.

 

Damn just remembered that period when I would genuinely welcome everyone who posted in the "welcome to AP thread," mostly just by saying "hi I'm Scott." Ultimately couldn't keep it up but felt good being friendly.

 

I can't find posts of mine older than 2005. Though back then all I cared about was online poker and being a horrible human.

 

Thank you. I dunno how to really get "over it" either, but, well, can't look back I suppose. One step at a time and hopefully in 20 years we're all laughing and drinking some drinks talking about these very posts.

yeah, I think that's why it freaks me out too. Presently I don't care when someone quotes me and they disagree with me or are mad at me, but for some reason if they PM me about it I get really overwhelmed because suddenly it seems ~serious.

The only time I ever got angry PMs tho was over the news post on Nicki Minaj's Anaconda video lol. For some reason I made a bunch of guys mad in that post.

Part of me is crushed that something that's been part of my life for 10 years is going away. Part of me is super excited to see the future of this place. Part of me is happy that all my reviews from when I was 13 get to die in a fiery abyss.

Shout out to Steve Alcala (alpaca) for being one of my closest friends through so many events in my life and never letting how busy either of us are get in the way of that

Shout out to Jake Jenkins for introducing me to a plethora of music including his own which has affected my life in multiple ways and for being a great friend to me for many years

Me too! I want to say I don't think they post anymore. I don't think either do? I think they were big general prestigious posters a decade ago, but I wasn't as involved then so idk usernames very well and I honestly have no idea who it was.

 

Already spelled out my situation in email, so I will just say that I am ready for the next chapter of this community.

 

Honestly there was a time many moons ago where I would have done stuff like that and it bums me out that I got away from it. #internetgoals

Wow this is huge! I've been going to AP for my late teens, through my twenties, and into my thirties. So it's definitely sad to see the name go. I can't lie though I'm excited for the future and looking around at this new forum, and the overall look if it, it is going to be a fun new journey.

 

Back in 2011 right before Taking Back Sunday's s/t album was coming out, a handful of us from the General chat thread went to the TBS thread in Music where a bunch of mostly front-page people (i.e. people who didn't know us) were posting and started talking about how great the new album is. I got like 10 PMs in a matter of minutes from people asking for a link haha

 

PMs give me anxiety. They're never good.

There's a "cheat sheet" thread I posted up here that has some other tricks and things I added to this site (that I think more sites should steal too).

I remember hanging out in my computer class early college and seeing one of those underlined periods with the song link (I believe the one I remember was FSF's last song with Jason Gleason - Jason Tate might remember that one) and having to rush back to my PC to grab the song.

 

Site already has its first troll account lol
