  1. Leftandleaving

I will be okay. everything Supporter

  2. Short version: I declared it early, and that album meant a lot to me that year (graduated college), and then Thrice did that, and I decided to stick with my original call because I was stubborn af.

If I’m being honest, I didn’t hear EIT until 2006, so I’m just being a hypocritical asshole.

I have to thank Thrice, your review, and Ryan Mills lack of judgment for giving me a reviewer position in October 2005

  6. My recollection is it came out end of August, and I don't think I really went IN on it until 2006 either. It's by far the biggest wtf moment for me though. And FUCT should be higher. And Panic! should be on my list. I was trying to be too cool cause FOB blew up and everyone liked it and I was aware/afraid of the mob backlash over it (ditto for Panic! - which I think was an honorable mention). (Even though I totally was like fuck it SPILL CANVAS #1 at the same time.)

FOB, Panic, MCS, Academy Is, Acceptance, Jack's Mannequin, Armor For Sleep, Cartel ...

    What a ridiculous year.

  7. I never had one of those. Clearly a stupid backup strategy was having no backup strategy.

  8. I think EIT came out the same week as ETID's Gutter Phenomenon so I was obsessed with ETID but my girlfriend at the time adore EIT so we basically listened to it every day until the end of time.

  11. Lack of Paramore on my lists is shockingly apparent now too.

And Gaslight Anthem's '59 Sound not being #1 is just stupid. It's arguably one of my favorite albums ever. Like, I like that Astronautalis album and that Lydia album is there best one ... but ... still. Oof.

One day I'll need to do a re-ranking of everything.

Yeah, tail end of August. I was just getting into SoCo in the fall/winter of 2005 and didn't realize Jack's was the same guy until early 2006. I ended up getting a used copy of the CD like the day school got out in 2006 and proceeded to play it at least 300 times that summer, so I think it was a blessing in disguise that I missed it when it came out. It became THE summer album for me by virtue of me having a whole summer with it right when I was falling in love with it.

    Oh, I do.

Were you not a Butch fan in these days/did you not like Sycamore Meadows. I was surprised that wasn't on your 2008 list.

  13. I was disappointed it wasn't another Letters. Took me a long time to come around to it iirc. Probably was a honorable mention.

  14. yeah that would be a fun project

not sure I’d say better but I love Leighton's voice and I’ve enjoyed most of their records except Liquor. I wish they didn’t break up during the Assailants album cycle. I would’ve loved to hear a whole record from them in that style
