it was pretty insane. two fridays ago, I ordered from the app and picked it up. it was sort of raining that morning so no one was there. Saturday with it being nice, my dumb ass didn't think it would be too crazy and I was sooo wrong. Didn't wait for my order, just said F it and left.

Yeah, my wife hasn't even tried a Starbucks because of the crowds. If you go north down Lincoln there are several good spots closer to the square. Beans and Bagels off Rockwell brown line is my go-to spot. They've done a good job of keeping people separated and so on.

Baker Miller is great, right off Western brown line stop.

 

thanks for the recs! I just have done Starbucks lately because I didnt know of any open near me. def wont be doing that again.

 

most Starbucks are re-opening today or tomorrow so the currently open ones will hopefully be a little less hectic. We have social distancing guidelines for waiting in line but obviously it’s up to the manager for it to be properly implemented

It'll go from "Yay - I can go places again!" to "Fuck this business, they wouldn't let me in because there was already 10 people in the building!". Entitlement rage will continue, no doubt.

 

I mean we’re not even contact tracing right now and the hospital rates are flat, so I don’t even think we could get to Phase 3 in the Chicago area by June

Word to the wise if anyone is out driving this weekend, it’s open season for the maniacs on the interstate/Lake Shore Drive. Had multiple groups of motorcycles and cars weaving in and out on 55 just now. Car fame within about a foot of my hood, I nearly thought I was going to crash

 

That’s honestly been my experience throughout this quarantine the few times that we have been out driving.
