The pool scene in Prey at Night is so good. Very memorable.

Have you seen Them (Ils)? That is top notch for me.

Also, You're Next is a top 5 of all time for me. I've watched it probably about 20 times now. Never gets old.

I’ve been wondering how in the near future entertainment will reflect on our current pandemic, especially horror. Lots of movies in the past were based on the metaphor of The Cold War or AIDS epidemic. I know there our doubters out there to our current situation but there are others who are extremely paranoid and germaphobic being out in public.

Contagion has gotten renewed attention because of now and I originally saw it in theaters. I can’t bear to watch it again now because it’d be too stressful for me.

Ils is great as long as you don't spoil it for yourself. I went back and watched it again and it was a bit less impactful, but still pretty good.

  8. Watched In The Tall Grass last night. It was fine.

Also started Kingdom, the Korean zombie series on Netflix. Only 1 ep in, but I think I'm going to like it.

I’m in the mood for some legit spooky.
What’s the scariest film you all have seen?

Hard to judge considering what scares me now is not what scared me as a child.

Have you ever watched The Woman In Black? (Not the Daniel Radcliffe remake)

Hard to say what's the scariest film I've ever seen. Maybe the original TCM.

It doesnt scare me like it used to, but I still consider The Shining my favorite horror.

Then there's also different kinds of scary, like the psychological/surreal dread of Beyond the Black Rainbow or Climax. David Lynch's stuff also always hits a sweet spot for me.

  22. I watched a screener with a watermark on it. Not sure if there's another version out there without it.

  23. Hmmm...idk about "scared," but Color Out of Space disturbed me beyond belief, and not like in a "this is so graphic" way. Just in how horrifying the story unfolds.

  24. Martyrs (2008) and The Shining still give me the chills, which is why they're two of my favorites. There are plenty of disturbing movies, but it's hard to think of movies off the top that were truly scary and stuck with me in that way.
