Someone linked me to some youtube videos of Jerome on Gotham and it's hilariously bad. Some of the worst acting I've ever seen.

Jerome on Gotham > Leto's Joker

I think they were trying to make both a team-up film (ie The Avengers) and an ensemble film (i.e. Guardians). In Avengers, we had 5 solo films to lay a foundation of who these people are. In Guardians, we are introduced to all of the characters at once but the film has a main character in Peter Quill. So characters like Rocket have a few lines of dialogue to establish what his motivations are but the plot arc we are following is Quill's (and to a lesser extent Gamora).

Suicide Squad, has 3 or 4 main characters that they are trying to service. Each one of those characters didn't need a solo movie, they just didn't need to be main characters at all.

I think the only thing the DCEU has gotten right is the lack of origin story films.

I think Gal Gadot is an excellent choice for WW, so there is that too.

Yeah I think most of the cast has been solid. Maybe not utilized well, but talented. I think the only major mis-cast were Amy Adams and maybe Jesse Eisenberg.

By the way I had no idea that Affleck was actually portraying Batman in this. I guess it was safe to assume so, but still, pretty cool.

Also I like how they essentially said "here's why Superman can't help" within the first 10 minutes.

I feel like WW and a solo Batman movie are DC's best shot at making a good film in its universe.

But, Watchmen was still terrible because Zak Snyder is a bad director.

    Quick question.

I'd say that Nicholson's Joker was manic, while Leto's was psychotic, but was would you call Ledger's?

Like Batman, he was a sociopath who used violence to impose his morals on the world.

Wouldn't sadistic be better fitting for Ledger's Joker? It's probably more complicated than that, but with three drastically different iterations of the character, it's hard to nail down their traits in just one word.

I do think that Leto's version was best described as psychotic, though.
