i mean stores couldn't offload these Animal Crossing amiibo figs or cards for YEARS. i don't blame them for being hesitant in reissuing them. i literally associate them with seeing them by the truckload in the bowels of Five Below lol

 

Yeah definitely. But they also released them when New Leaf was years old and nobody wanted Amiibo Festival or Happy Home Designer.

 

for sure but they probably took something of a bath on them and for a company that takes its sku space pretty seriously, i get being hesitant. after like two weeks they should've been like "oh shit actually let's get these out there" but at the same time, in a world where they can't meet demand for much bigger moneymakers like Ring Fit or the Switch itself, how are they supposed to prioritize amiibo cards

 

it feels like the way they handled the initial waves of AC amiibo is what killed that entire market. toys to life was obv on a big decline but amiibo occupied a different space to me and was more collector driven. when the AC stuff happened i saw a huge drop-off in those communities, both local and online. would be funny if those same amiibo brought the interest back lol

 

Nintendo definitely won’t release a lot of those anytime soon even though now is the time because the iron is hot on the AC brand and may not be after the summer.

 

Yeah they should just stick to cards going forward...I don’t have any more shelf space lol.

The game will have been out for almost three months by the time the Japanese reprint comes out, let alone whenever the us and eu come out after. I think it’s fair to say, they had their moment. I’m sure the initial reprint waves will do well for them as well, unless Nintendo only sells them virtually in their eshop or something.

You took a few sentences out of context. No one was demanding they should open factories and make more cards in an unsafe work environment. Afik it’s unclear how they’re even doing this reprint.

Just keep in mind the arcade drums are much bigger. There's an arcade-like drum you can buy that's $300, but I'm not going to do that.
