I don’t trust Nintendo to do anything that makes any kind of sense, I just sit back and try to take what they do in stride.

If they were interested in making sense, Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD would’ve been out on Switch already and there’d be a robust Virtual Console section on the eShop with as many NES, SNES, N64, and GameCube games as they could get on there.

I don’t prefer digital because I like to keep my stuff and I worry that one day I won’t be able to play the digital games if they remove them from the shop or shut it down

Or a good game would be nice.

I want them to move away from that horrible art design and go to something else. They've stayed with the New Super Mario Bros art for too long.

I only buy digital. That stuff doesn't bother me anymore because we're rapidly moving into a more digital friendly ecosystem.

I agree with that last part, especially on PC. I think with Nintendo there is still that problem, but I think it should end with the 3DS? I don't see eShop being replaced next gen and all our digital games being lost in the void. Maybe I'm just too optimistic.

I still buy physical (mostly so I can let other people borrow games, and I just like owning physical copies of things) but games that I plan to play for a long time (Animal Crossing, Pokemon) I just go digital for the convenience.

Maybe. Maybe not. Companies can go bankrupt and then their stores will go down. But you’ll still find hardware that can run your physical games. Then again a lot of games now aren’t worth shit without their day one patch or won’t run at all without a server connection.

If a physical game breaks, it's gone. I can redownload all the games I want and not have to worry about that. Also, takes up zero physical space, don't have to worry about distribution, expensive to print, etc..

There's a lot of pros and cons to both. I'm also lazy and don't want to switch discs or carts.

Certain games I like having on digital. Games that have lasting replay value and I can pop on at anytime. I have BoI on physical and its so damn annoying to have to get the cartridge every time I want to play.

Nice, I realized I played about 10 or 15 hours of it sometime last year, no idea if I had bought the game before or if I had downloaded a rom of it somehow? Jeez I buy too many games I can't remember for shit how I played it recently. Still love it though and don't mind replaying.

Yeah I usually like to go physical too. Pretty sure I got Pokemon Lets go on sale for $60 and was able to sell it a month later for $50. Got Link's Awakening used for $70 and then sold it again for $70. So I'm out $10 after playing two games. Can't do that with digital.

Yeah you can’t sell back digital games. That’s the main reason I don’t get them. If the game sucks or you get tired of it then oh well, you’re stuck with it.

Some companies are testing selling/trading systems for digital games. I would expect to see something in the next few years that's viable.

I don't really mind not selling my games, I don't sell my books or my movies so it doesn't bother me too much.

usually for Nintendo games I always buy a hard copy because Nintendo is bad with if you lose a game or break a switch but this life cycle I’ve gone more to digital

It also doesn’t help that I had one of those little 3ds game cases and for the switch I don’t want to do that at all.

I’ve been moving more and more digital lately as well. One of the last games I bought physically was Sekiro last year because the GameStop I got it from was selling it at 9 pm the day before, instead of midnight, and I wanted to play it early lol.

The only game I’ve bought digitally on switch is Friday the 13th since it’s an online only game
