Honestly that picture makes me viscerally uncomfortable

 

just thinking hitting pause on XC2 right now, and just playing XC1 first when it comes out, and then just go back after.

i'm way too excited for that game.

 

My Switch is here! Just in time for me to take an additional position at work where I actually have to do shit!

Set it up and played like 10 mins max of Mario. Then played a few Prix in Kart with my wife. It’s fun! I can see that I’ll probably play a lot on the TV but I didn’t mind it handheld.

Does anyone play with the two loose joycons? It kept telling me to try that with Mario so i could shake to throw my hat friend but I didn't like it.


Also, I’ve sunk like 400 hrs into Binding of Isaac on Steam on my computer. Is it worth getting on the Switch? I’m interested in seeing how it handles with the pro controller, but if it doesn’t bring anything drastically new to the table I’ll skip it.

But if you’re asking if the port is good, yes!!! I have’t kept up so idk if it has the same version as the PC one, but iirc it did

Hahha yeah the game itself is absolutely worth it, I just didn't know if there was anything crazy different about it. I'll probably get it regardless when I'm done with what I have. I don't think I've put more time into a game... maybe ever? It's so addicting

 

Once you go pro controller you never go back

 

I played with the Joycons for a few minutes and then used the pro for the rest of the time playing

 

Not exaggerating when I say it's my favourite controller ever lol

It’s up there with the 360 controller for sure

 

I personally always used the loose joycons playing Odyssey, it just wasn't anywhere near as fun in handheld to me. I've never used a pro controller, but doesn't it feel awkward trying to use motion gestures to throw your hat around?

The motion stuff for Mario Odyssey isn't required. The pro controller is the best way to play.

Motion control is the only way i was able to beat the volleyball shit haha

 

I beat volleyball by playing as cappy

 

Barf. The triggers might be better but the whole thing juts out awkwardly and the buttons don't feel good to press.

Yeah, true! Motion controls aren't required for Odyssey but I found that they made the game a lottt easier since you have more control over the way you throw your hat. But maybe I would have been ok sacrificing that more with a comfier controller

Same, I think it's really comfortable to be able to rest your hands wherever you want. I'll often be completely under a blanket with my hands on my sides haha. I have noticed that playing a lot did slowly make my thumb cramp up though since the joycons are so small. I only ever experienced it with Odyssey because it was my first Switch game so I was immediately obsessed and beat it way faster than I should have haha.
