Ugh now I want it Zig. I feel like I had a copy recently but have no idea where it is

 

I just want a pair of new red joycons, this is not the time to have them both start drifting now :(

 

My pro controller has been acting up, there has been a damaged box one at wal-mart for 44.25 the past few months. I'm gonna see if it's there next time I go food shopping.

 

i just replaced the battery earlier this yer on my 3DS too is it's as good as new (minus the drifting c-stick but who cares). i'm pretty sure i'm gonna regret not owning that game in a few years (but i also don't want to spend a lot and I have time), so bidding wars lol

 

now i kinda want Dawn of Sorrow too lol

 

Was it hard to replace the battery?

I got Dawn of Sorrow a few months ago! Cartridge only, i forget how much but it was on ebay for under 20 bucks. Took like 10 days to ship lol

I have an N3DSXL, and it was incredibly easy. I don’t think there even is a way to mess it up. I think 2DS XL’s battery can’t be replaced (just in case that’s the one you have). You do need a screwdriver (forgot what size) but every home should have a toolbox anyway. After moving 5 times in the last 2 years that’s the one thing I never forget haha.

Also DoS under 20 bucks sounds like a good deal. I’ll keep an eye on it.

I also bought Zelda but am in the process of cancelling the order because I know I'm gonna play Mario first and don't want to pay all of that money in one day. If it doesn't cancel, I'll have that too lol.

I'm a casual gamer and my wife rarely, if ever, plays anything. I figure she'd get into Kart and Smash every now and then. Are there any other accessories that I should definitely buy? Controllers/charging ports/cords etc.? Buying the Pro for me would allow her to play on the Joycon controller if we wanted to do a local multiplayer, right? Do I need any other accessory to make that work? I'm not sure how all of this works.

Apologies if these Qs were answered a hundred times before, I tried searching the thread but you all post a lot!
Anyway, excited to dig in to these games! Should be here the 15th.

 

Sounds like you should be set honestly. If you plan on traveling with it a lot I’d recommend some kind of case/bag for it, but that’s really all in terms of accessories. You’ll be able to play up to 3 player local multiplayer on those games with just the joy cons and the pro controller.

Is the preferred method for most people to dock and play on the TV or use handheld? I feel like I'm going to be a TV player.

 

You’ll get a lot of different answers. This thread is pretty split. Even in my own house I’m a TV player and my girlfriend only ever wants to play handheld.

 

welcome to the fam! the beauty of the switch is that theres no definitive answer. i played exclusively handheld for like 2 years, got a pro controller as a gift and have been mostly playing on tv now. let us know how you like the games!

Bought Final Fantasy Tactics A2 for 11 bucks on ebay lol

 

I mostly play handheld, but there are certain games where I want to play on the TV just for the bigger image (like Xenoblade 2 or BotW, even though BotW runs better in handheld mode lol).

I also mostly played Odyssey in handheld mode, actually, now that I think about it.

 

Yeah definitely depends on the game, the 'bigger' the game the less inclined I am to play on portable mode.

XC2 is gorgeous on TV, and passable while handheld.

My wife is finishing up FF7RE so I'm demoted to playing handheld.

I know it looks kinda sketch but i've ordered from this type of seller before. They have great feedback too. This is the exact type of place I got Castlevania too. I had a 5 dollar coupon so it brought it down to 11.99. Idk if they are reproduced carts or something, idk but they work!
