I've only really said "we" with the Texans or the Stars, haven't ever with any other team I've rooted for. That's probably weird.

 

I've gotten it off my chest. I'll no longer bring it up.

 

That's why I quit posting in the NFL thread. I still post in the gameday threads b/c nobody cared about my Falcons posts, haha.

The NFL thread over there is the worst. It's a) non-stop lol's and bashing other dudes and b) a twitter feed

That's why I dread April 1, when all those other people come over (or hopefully don't)

 

I enjoyed your Falcons posts, they're still up there as a NFC favorite in my life haha. But your analysis is entirely right. Bummed me out to see Randall ragged on (jokingly but still) for being the one doing tons of analysis on everything he posted about and not just doing one sentence "you're wrong"s all the time.

And of course as @AelNire said, the way women were treated in the sports forums was awful.

 

Randall is actually a smart guy. I ragged on him in the past jokingly for his overly-long posts, but least he brings some discussion to the table. Unlike the guys who write "lol" in response to anything and everything, or those who want to be the Adam Schefter of AP by just posting twitter links and logging out.

 

Well, y'all have made posting about sports enjoyable for me. I have been treated really well and I appreciate it.

I only use the "we" when referring to any team representing the United States or while I was a student in college. Outside of that, I just try to be obnoxious if I'm in the crowd for the support of my team of choice.

 

I use we when talking about the Gators since I'm student here but other than that I don't say it often. I don't judge people for saying it but I feel like it's a little weird sometimes especially when talking about a professional team, but whatever floats your boat.

Also, the experience in sports threads here as been much better. I definitely don't expect someone to basically tell me I shouldn't be in here since I'm a girl like a certain person did at AP once.

 

God, I think I remember that...that was so ridiculous. :/ Can't remember who it was but bottom line is I really hope this community stays above being like that come 4/1 and beyond.

Same here. Like I don't have a problem with it, it's just something I really pick up on when people say it, because it sounds weird. I think it's different if you graduated from a school though. I mean, you're part of that school's history.

 

Love the idea of sports forum being more respectful. So many AP people avoided it because of poor experiences, off to a nice start it seems

I am more confident that Nova will beat Oklahoma than I was that they would beat Kansas. who knows what that means.

 

You guys ever pick a team with one friend? Then whenever the opposing team scores, you take a shot of beer? 2 shots of beer for a 3 pointer, 1 shot of beer for a 2. Additional shot every time a player makes consecutive free throws.

When it's a high scoring game, I'm yelling at the end every time the opposing team makes a shot. This game really makes you root for someone who you didn't care about previously.

that game reminds me- back when I was in college, we went down to visit a buddy at Virginia Tech for spring break and it happened to be the weekend of the tournament. we decided to do a power hour with shots of wine during the one game

that did not end well.

 

I know its way early for this, especially since my alma-mater is playing in the Final 4 this weekend...but I was just looking into next year's recruiting classes (on ESPN)

Duke has #1, #2, and #11 nationally. what the fuck lol
