It looks awful and if it’s anything like Playgrounds there’s going to be an insane about of micro transactions.

 

To be honest, I’ve wanted an arcade style WWE game for a while, I’m just not sure this is the one I was craving

I want an "arcade" style game, but I want a realistic game with arcade gameplay, not special powers and shit. Just make the 2K/Yukes gameplay fun, fast, and fluid like the older wrestling games.

Hey @Shrek is fire pro wrestling worth it on the ps4?

 

Fire Pro is great but you really need to know what you’re getting into before buying it. Mods on pc make the game much better

 

its very good but it doesn't play like any other wrestling game. its very precise and can be frustrating at first but once you get the hand of it, it becomes pretty easy and you'll find yourself cranking the difficulty up until you find the sweet spot.

the AI is great. there are a ton of different wrestling styles programmed in, so wrestlers behave genuinely different than each other. people make really impressive recreations of wrestlers that behave really closely to their real life counterparts. i found a Brock Lesnar on the PC version that was a blast because he behaved perfectly and was unstoppable.

it's not flashy but it's really great. there's a huge portion of the community that just puts in all cpu players and just watch the matches because the AI is so intelligent. i haven't played on PS4 but im positive there's a ton of great user made wrestlers on there

 

personally, with PC/mods, i found myself only really taking advantage of visual mods to get recreations of modern arenas, ring aprons, etc. the full suite is fun, you can get stuff like exploding barbed wire battle royals, but i found myself largely playing vanilla game modes

love that WWE had Charlotte win the NXT title only to never be on NXT TV and actually still wrestle on Raw

love that they are ruining the women's division on NXT because they foolishly think Charlotte is a draw that'll help them beat AEW

just fucking stupid booking - especially since Io and Charlotte are even scheduled to wrestle at MitB

I know I say it every week but damn I love the new day podcast. And to think I wanted them to split

 

lol I’ve put in about 30 hours since the lockdown here and haven’t played a match. Just simming.

I mostly use MOTW and the booking mods. Heel database and tag team databases are great too. Gives you a bunch more options to make it even more realistic but most of it is aimed at simming. Mods also make Fire Promoter actually fun.

 

see i haven't even played since Fire Promoter so some of this i haven't heard of! put in 130 hours between launch and dropping off though lol. you have me redownloading it

 

Gotcha. I’d prefer to play on my laptop but thought it’d be something fun my girlfriend and I could play on the ps4 occasionally. If I get it, I’ll let you know how it is.

 

Fire promoter is fine but way too expensive and needs mods to be fun. There’s a mod called MOTW I mentioned that’s pretty much a better version of it. It’s fun using the interview mod, you can get wrestlers basically out doing promos and use the sound mods to get proper reactions. I created OTT and basically just run/book my own promotion in the game when I play and try to play out storylines.

the heel database is cool, if you set up a heel they can attack the referee, or managers or even their tag team partner if the other isn’t set up as a heel. There’s also a story mode creator mod now as well. It’s all super cool.

Did you see they released the parts creator dlc? You can now create parts for wrestlers that are missing and I think create moves and taunts too.

 

Currently listenting to this. Can somebody who was watching wrestling in 2010 explain what aew (i love aew) does better than tna back then?
